That heaviness comes from this being one of Coheed's only songs to use a 7-string guitar. It's so satisfying to play, especially that climactic ending. Cool reaction, man.

Great song... thank you for reacting to it. Eppard is an absolute monster on this track.

So this is the song where Sirius accidentally kills his wife, Meri. While Sirius was up in space dealing with the entities Meri.. And the rest of the world... Think he's dead. His space ship explodes at the end of Domino The Destitute... Which is song 2 on Ascension... So the other non-entity tracks on Ascension are Meri looking for her Afterman...cuz Sirius is dead.... And she finds one and has a whole relationship. Then at the end of Sentry The Defiant Sirius is able to attempt to return home and he's been gone years at this point. That's when Meri now realizes "oh shit my husband is alive and he's super fucking famous now" But she tells him about her current relationship... Oh... And she's pregnant... And he loses his shit and crashes into a semi. And here we are.

100% correct. Another fun fact, the real-life inspiration for this song is Claudio's fear of driving, and more importantly, surviving a car crash while somebody else in the car loses their life.

is there any site I can read up about the meaning behind song by song of coheed? I'd love to catch up on that.

Getting into Coheed is like peeling an onion with an infinite number of layers...take your time and enjoy the ride! The story will be there when you’re ready for it. Also you should check out “All On Fire” at some point, it’s one of my favs off their latest album

This one is a hidden gem and I don't see it often requested among Coheed reactions, but The End Complete III is such an amazing song you should check out.

The extra raspiness of that section is my most favorite vocal work Claudio has ever done. It's simply perfect.

This song is a portrayal of Claudio's fear of driving and how one wrong move on the road can result in a life changing disaster.

Just gotta say. Number City is one of my all time favorites of Coheed's, and it is essentially the follow up to this song.

You should definitely give Mastodon a try. I think you would really like then. I recommend Mastodon - The Motherload.

great song, for sure one of the best. the sound of that song live..epic. but if you like great guitar riffs the final cut of the good appollo album has great guitar work and quite a solo. a little dark but coheed goes there once in a while.

Great Job as always. Give "Deranged" a listen which is on the Arkham City game soundtrack
