I played the left hand like: E, up to next octave F#, down to B, then down to F# (repeat) then I play ascending B, Eb, F#, B, (C# + down an octave Bb), C#, F#, C#, B I find that sounds a bit more like the song. I guess if you're not going for an exact copy then this is really nice :)

practice, listen to the song. taking a break also always helps to not get bored by the song! lay it down for a week or so, and then get back to it. try playing other songs in the meanwhile. but the best would be to get a proper teacher! i never had one and basically have only little clue of what im doing when playing. also i started arranging the music from the new coheed trailer which is easier to play. i hope i can manage to upload it soon :)

I'm with everyone else asking for a tutorial :D (I understand the stresses and demands of school, though!) But even if you just recorded yourself playing this again but set up the camera so that we could see what notes you're playing, that would [almost] be just as good :)
