COHO LIMIT! I outfished "Fishing with Rod"

In this episode, I went fishing with Fishing with Rod and Life of Linda Lee. The water was very low with sun shine blazing down. First light and last light was really the only chance to capitalize to catch these picky cohos. Hope you enjoy this video! Vedder River Salmon Fishing.

I'm curious what the attraction is to center pin reels. 🤔 Anglers seem to do a whole lot more reeling 🤔. Good fishing😊

You are absolutely correct. It’s less efficient than a baitcaster since the ratio is one to one. However I personally like to fight a fish on it. It’s me doing all the work since there no drag system. Pros and cons I guess

Hello, What brand of reel are you using? The way you cast is different than the conventional center pin.

It’s a okuma raw ii Centerpin. I cast it how it works for me haha idk if it’s right or not 🤷‍♂️

9ft is okay. I like longer rod but that’s personal preference. It all depends on the rating on the rod. What lb is the rating?

@wescrawford4384 ​​⁠that would be more than sufficient for cohos but maybe on the lighter for springs. But it should be fine…just to have an idea. For springs I use 8-17lb rated and cohos I use 6-12lb rated rods

There is a KZbin channel called addicted fishing where you can find lots of instructions about floating with spinning rod. It has its own challenges like free drifting but not letting too much of slack on the line… it’s challenging but doable

Lol. Well springs are great! You can retain them but they are either too coloured up or stinks haha they are great for making jerky and smoked. I prefer spring for jerky than coho. It’s just I caught many this year and don’t want to deal with big fish haha

Springs are cool but when you catch a lot it gets tiring haha plus the rod is a very light one so
