Many of my best coho days have been dirty water days. The fish feel safe and are more willing to bite. I find that with gear there might be only 1 fish in 50 that actually wants to bite a lure, so you just have to move around and show the lure to a lot of fish. Those that want it really want it though. A influencers, I think we all need to put an emphasis on not dragging wild coho up on the beach, have been seeing it far too much this year.

Dirty water coho fishing is the best! I’m not sure if I agree with 1 fish in 50 statement since I have gotten quite a bit of coho with spoons and personal experience. I do agree that we all should promote fish handling skills for all species that has to be released. I have personally seen lot of bad handling this year as well. Unfortunate
@petrhermanadventures9509 Жыл бұрын
I've watched them react to my spinners in clear water, maybe one in 10 follows for a bit, but only one in 50 actually makes a strike attempt. And once they've seen the lure a couple of times, they stop reacting completely. Maybe that ratio goes up in dirty water, but also people underestimate how many fish sit in a run in October, often it's a couple of hundred. @@Go2fishingbc

If you’re going to keep the fish then bank it. I don’t even net fish if I’m gonna keep them. But I agree. This year is bad and I’m on the Kitimat/skeena river. Everyone just dragging fish up on the bank and then releasing them by kicking them back in or chucking them back exhausted with out breathing them at all. If I’m catch and releasing a fish it doesn’t leave the water. That’s that. Everyone asks me if I need help or to drag it on the bank. I’m like no man, I’m releasing it. But yeah here we can keep wild and hatchery coho and 2 over 50cm and 2 under 50 cm

Spoon day! When the coho are fresh and just moved in (especially when the water levels rise) spoons can be insanely effective even over roe. Mike does make some amazing spoons and the quality is top notch from flat split rings, Mustad hooks, good barrel swivels and funky paint jobs (try shining a UV light on some and you will see why)
@Go2fishingbc Жыл бұрын
You are totally right! Great qualities and catches fish. UV light?? I need to try it I wasn’t aware of that

The white and red speckled dot one and another glow under the UV light, another favorite that friends like is the frog color (dark green with black) when coho get a bit tight lipped.@@Go2fishingbc

hi, great video. I recently started fishing and had a godd day last weekend with around 8 bites in a short time with spoons. But just after some fighting and getting the fish closer it would suddenly get off the hook under tension. What am I doing wrong? Would be happy if anyone has some tips as I am planning to go again this weekend

Hey how’s it going guys. So I have a question to ask you. I haven’t been fishing in over 30 years and wanted to know what do u all use for hooks and bait. Also what part of the vedder do u recommend for fishing. I’ve been trying for the last few weeks to get at least one but not even a single thing. I’m currently running a braided line with a #2 hook and soft jar beads. Any suggestions or recommendations would be welcome. Thx again
