Can a baitcaster setup work as well
@markgraham726 жыл бұрын
FG Knot is my go to knot for braid to fluoro or mono. Extremely easy to tie and prob the strongest braid to fluoro/mono knot there is. Twitching is extremely effective for catching Coho. I think one of the main reasons is you're getting it right in front of the fishes face, if done right. Picked up my share of Kings twitching as well.

not gonna lie i kind of enjoy the fact that i get to come home everyday from work and watch a new addicted vid! BRU

Set up is pretty straight forward. Only thing I set up different is I use a little bit of a longer rod and i connect my jig to my mono line with a rated locking snap swivel. That way I can throw a spinner on real quick or change jig colors easy. Tying straight to the line isnt as important with twitching. I'd even argue that the free motion of the jig on the swivel is helpful with its action while twitching. It's not like jigs under a bobber where you want the jig parallel to the bottom so let it swing. And fall chinook like them too!

Shawn Bowen versatile with spinner! I like it.

I was watching your videos about twitching while taking a break from fishing and I look across the river today and see this dude fishing across from me in his little blue boat haha. Just a dude and his dog lol

With the blood knot and tying directly to the jig do you get any line twist in the braid from a rolling fish that could turn into a wind knot later on? Follow up to that are coho shy of terminal tackle and would a barrel swivel or snap swivel hurt this rig?

This will happen a lot with coho that have been staged up in low water rivers for long periods of time. It's really hard to get them to bite. WE NEED RAIN!!

What's your take on tying 30lb braid directly to the jig? Also can you tell me where the Coho are right now? I'm new to the PNW and new to salmon fishing and I've been skunked on the Sandy River 3 times now. I've tried twitching, spinners, floating roe and sand shrimp under a bobber.

Just curious, you have mentioned you like to use 30# when twitching in most of you left videos because of the way it cuts through the water. Not picking you apart by any means but in another video you stressed using 40# with the same set up and targeting the same fish. Does it matter much or does it? Just wandering. Love all your videos thanks!👌

Erik Homer thanks for the feedback. We will have a lot of other videos that come out as one video in whole but with a few of these we wanted to take each subject and dive into each aspect very detailed. Also trying to make videos more specific to exactly what someone is searching for. Thanks for tuning in and we appreciate the feedback.

I’ve only ever seen people snag fish while twitchin. I’m sure it works, but more often than not they snagging
@shawnbowen68336 жыл бұрын
Not even close to true. I've twitched quite a bit the last 3 years and never snagged a fish. All hooked in the mouth. Not saying it's not possible but to say "more often than not" just simply isnt true. I've snagged way more fish drift fishing and even tossing spinners the last 10 years than anything else. But even those arent common occurrences.
@Blktailhunter536 жыл бұрын
I haven’t snagged a single fish twitching
@Blktailhunter536 жыл бұрын
You are just “twitching” the jig, not ripping it like a snagger would do.
