Is there a particular reason Lorenzo gets a Seal of Excellence and this one only gets a Seal of Approval? Based on the way you were framing it, I thought this was going to get a Seal of Excellence for sure.

I know that they changed their criteria for "Seal of Approval" and "Seal of Excellence" in between those two games. Perhaps they got the same score out of 10, but many games that once got a Seal of Excellence no longer do.

I think you're right. I could have sworn the Lorenzo review was after the change. I didn't realize the seal criteria change happened as recently as December.

It def. has the visual pop and charm of a marco polo or grand austria hotel. it seems like a charming enuff euro, the q is how many charming mid-weight euros do i have time for? all the resource conversionness gets a bit old after awhile. Seems Feldian point salad. At this point I'd rather just play Century Spice: Eastern Wonders.

The theme is sooooo losse. The portuguese ships set sailed from Lisboa. Not Coimbra. Coimbra has one of the oldest Universities in the World. It has nothing to do with the colonies... So confused why they choose that city.

They should've called "Belém" then. That's where many ships set sailed from :) at the time Belém wasnt part of the city of Lisboa.

Well, it doesn't have the brutal Religion phase. It is also easier on the eyes though I do like the look of Lorenzo. It is almost the same game after watching both reviews back to back.

Jesse Welch I own this game and I don't think so. They feel pretty solid. They look the same as the towers in Porta Nigra.

I didn't pay $50 for Lorenzo, nor would I. I paid something around $25-30 (used), and would pay $40 max for new, especially considering how absurdly overpriced the expansion is.

Justin Rizzo My point is that you can't use the price point as a negative against the game if you're saying you bought/enjoy a game with the same price point. Obviously there will be sales and used copies for this game as well.
