Not worth roll hunting? Tell that to all those who have made thousands on the W Quarters over the years and more recently, the 2023 VDB Extra V Variety Cent. (just to name a few). I agree that the likelihood of finding the "lotto ticket" finds are rare, but the coins that fetch $10-$100 are still out there and are continually being minted/found every year. There's good finds out there (and an occasional bank score/collection dump), you just need a little luck and some persistence. I think you have to enjoy the hunt and have the patience to do it. It's not for everyone, but for some of us, it is.

9:51 I can tell that he has never done any coin roll hunting in his life, I agree that finding major errors and stuff like the 1909 S V.D.B is next to impossible but the statement that there is nothing to be found in circulation is blatantly wrong, I personally have found war nickels, Buffalo nickels, V nickels, silver quarters, teens twenties and thirties wheat cents, silver halfs, a large cud on a copper cent, old Canadian pennies, blank planchets and there is still so much to be found. To any new collextors reading this please don't stop looking through your bills and change, don't stop coin roll hunting boxes just because of what he said, right now you may not find anything super cool right now but you will find amazing stuff if you keep at it.

My mom bought me a 39c whitman folder for mercury dimes. She looked through her change and found 2. A 1919p in good and a 1944d in vf. This was in Nov. '58!

I really enjoyed this interview. In reference to his comment about the mint marketing error coins I honestly don't think I could trust the mint or the employees in not purposely producing error coins to market. Good interview

I have one American cent of 2001 in this coin there is no mint mark and the reverse side is printed at 6 pm rotation
