Coinbase Tutorial | Recurring Deposits and Withdrawals

In this video I take you through a tutorial of how to get recurring deposits and recurring withdrawals on Coinbase Advanced Trader. Combining this with the previous video on how to get recurring purchases of any cryptocurrency available on Coinbase Advanced Trader will give you a fully automated crypto bot powered by the Coinbase V2 and V3 APIs that will automatically dollar cost average bitcoin (or ETH or any other cryptocurrency) and then send that crypto straight to your favorite wallet.
The best part about exchanges with great user experience (like Coinbase or Cash App) is that within the UI they allow you to make recurring buys of any crypto that they sell. Unfortunately as we see early in the video this convenience can come with a huge fee (around 10% in our example). Exchanges like Coinbase Advanced Trader and Gemini Active Trader have really low fees in comparison - but Coinbase Advanced Trader doesn't have any easy way to make recurring buy orders!
That's where the Coinbase Advanced Trader API comes in to play! This is amazing, thank you! FYI I prefer to just automate USD deposits and BTC and ETH purchases and all the API permissions I needed were My Wallet, ETH Wallet, USD Wallet, wallet:buys:create, wallet:user:read, wallet:deposits:create, and wallet:payment-methods:read. I believe for withdrawals you would just need to add wallet:accounts:read and wallet:withdrawals:create.

Great stuff, thank you for putting this together. When I try it in April 2024, it looks like they have changed how to get API keys because it took me to a developer page. I created an API key, but it's unclear what I should be pasting into the code. I tried several different ways and I keep getting errors.

The API authentication method changed on Coinbase’s end I’ll have an update out in May.

For api, the same withdrawal limits apply as for gui or not? If I have a limit of 250k /d and I give a request to withdraw everything(251k), will it pass or will there be an error?

Same withdrawal limits should apply yes. The same thing should happen as if you try to withdraw 251k through the UI. Front end and API should be calling the same code in advanced trade.

Hey Rhett, have you noticed Bitcoin network fees are ridiculously high on Coinbase right now? Trying to withdraw $10 of BTC and it will cost me $31 total.

Yeah network fees on bitcoin are very high right now because of ordinals and brc20 tokens. Unfortunately, I think the best thing to do would be transact as infrequently as possible until this subsides.

Lmao. Try setting a factor closer to 1 (.999 vs .99) and the limit orders will fill faster. In the last bull run I had one or two buys that took months to fill but for the most part everything else filled in a day or so.
