Yes! You should allow the hardware wallet to generate the seed phrase and it will use enough entropy. The issue comes up when you take matters into your own hands - you need to make sure you're rolling enough dice.

@@RhettReismanthis is what I did and it May be overkill. I asked the cold wallet to issue 12 bip39 words. Wrote those down and then erased them. I used those 12 words as a Passphrase to a new wallet with 24 seed words. Overkill but it is what it is. Soon i will add multi sig using different hardware manufacturers. But I need to figure out how I will be storing these pass phrases and seeds since I don’t want them in the same house.

It's likely that the transaction didn't have enough fees to ever confirm. If this was sent to you by someone you didn't know it could have been a scam - where they knew it would never confirm

Thanks for watching! If you’re using Sparrow Wallet with the Coldcard MK4, you can select a specific address by managing UTXOs (Unspent Transaction Outputs). Sparrow allows you to manually choose which UTXOs to include in a transaction, and those UTXOs are linked to specific addresses in your wallet. Once you’ve selected the UTXOs, Sparrow will construct the transaction, and the Coldcard MK4 will handle signing it. So while you don’t directly select the address on the MK4 itself, Sparrow gives you full control over which funds to send. Hope that clears it up!

It’s very similar. You can’t automate the mobile app though. The api will always be more flexible for custom strategies, but the mobile app is really helpful when you need to make a quick trade in a pinch and you’re out / away from your computer 🫡

Yeah have done that in the past. TBH my umbrel has been a complete nightmare to maintain and I haven’t used it in a while. I’ve found the hardware to be pretty unreliable and difficult to debug. Fun hobby project but long term it’s probably better to just get a dedicated computer IMO

I've never used electrum + tails (not sure what tails is - tailscale?). Is Sparrow always online, that's not my understanding. Even if it was always online I'm not sure how that would affect your security.

I studied a little about sparrow for use with the ledger nano s, I just didn't see information about the safety of the device as it is no longer updated/manufactured. Ledger nano s should still be supported, not sure if there are specific altcoins that don’t support for some reason but you can still use the ledger nano s to hold bitcoin and other major tokens. More info: support.ledger.com/article/5615862066717-zd
