Is there a way to be able to change the retroarch to a more updated version? This version does not allow to update shader presets. I want to use a retro crisis shader preset but when I use it, it does not work correctly because the shader presets need to be updated.

You can use whichever version of RetroArch you want. Download version 1.17 and replace the folder with the new version (rename it RetroArchCC to make the launchers work for you). You will also have to move the \config, \saves and \system folders to the new version.
