Word of advice: ALWAYS write the e-card code # down since it definitely will magically wear off pretty quickly on your receipt. Without that number you're out of luck when trying to use it on Amazon or Best Buy or whatever store you selected. I wonder if Coinstar did that on purpose knowing that the vouchers will get unused if the numbers wear off.....hmmmmm.

Take a picture of that part of the receipt and load it to your account as soon as you can.

@@SidsTips -Correct. Actually, when I got home I loaded it into my Amazon.com account. But still kept the voucher anyway to experiment, and if you leave it in your wallet or fold it up, the ink wears off within a week or two. But a picture is a good idea too.

Tip: 10.9% kept by coinatar is a lot, so I separate my quarters beforehand, either manually or coin separation trays from Amazon. I roll those with a coin counting rolling tube (Amazon) while watching tv & deposit at the bank. The rest go to gift cards I know I will use, such as Amazon, Home Depot/Lowes, etc. I pour until I get the amount I want per card. Then repeat for the next card(paper receipts with a code & pin#). Nothing is taken out when getting gift cards. 💪

This was very helpful, thank you. I filled-up (2) 1 gallon ice tea containers, they way about 35-40 pounds each now. I kept track in an excel spreadsheet for one of them and in 2 years, it was around $446. Now I just need to make some time to dump all of this change in the machine.

you should really look at your coins some of them could be silver or rare coins, if you see a quarter or dime from 1964 or older its silver for nickels 1943 ,1942 are 40% silver and here's a really rare coin, if you find a 1943 copper penny its worth 1,000,000$ so really check your coins 😁😁😁😁

Some banks and credit unions have their own coin counter machines. If you are a customer, or member of said bank, they might not charge a fee for you to use the machine.

The only thing I don't like about those machines is that when u put Penny's is ok they charge u for every cent.ok.now if u put in 100 dimes 100 nickels 100 quarters the machine only says 100 quarters 100 nickels n 100dimes so do the math how much is 100 dimes so I'll get 40 dl plus the % ur being charge for using it.sorry I don't use these machines no more there stealing from me.

+Brian Ertley There's only a few if you want cash money to spend on anything, while there's 0 fee if you want it in gift card form instead. These coin slot machines have to do this because they are following state law due to taxes. if you haven't paid recent attention, Colorado recently went to Newegg and asked if Newegg would send all of there online users transactions to Colorado and anything you bought on Newegg if you lived in Colorado that had no taxes on it, the state is now taking those taxes which people basically owed the entire time. Can range from anywhere from $200 to over $3,000. This is why I buy things with gift cards usually, don't have to pay any taxes at all because the company handles that.

As a collector my self I'm concerned because I looked through my coin jar the other day and I found 4 wheats one of them was a 1928 wheat and also 1964 and earlier all dollars, halfdollars , qrts , and comes were 90% silver and there are a bunch of error coins in the U.S so lesson to be learned always look through your coins before you dump at coinstar.

Not all charge the max 11.9% fee, it varies by location, and as he mentions the gift card option you get to keep all 100%, donation also is no fee and a good tax break voucher
