He was a rather charming man, but as the interview went on and he became more comfortable I noticed an unpleasantness to him. He had the look of someone a bit too pleased with himself like he knew a secret and was fooling everyone and couldn’t resist smiling about it. Still, I don’t think I would have recognized it so quickly if I didn’t know the truth of him.

Well I can see that he's a weirdo and someone I wouldn't socialise with personally had I known him. Regardless of his contributions to US numismatics I'm not surprised (on the basis of this video alone) that he fell foul of the law.

He was well researched on everything he was interested in. He was interested in children...sexually, and it's no secret that Manga and Anime have a troubling history with portraying children in sexual manners. He would know of that.

There are very few video clips and photos of Walter Breen. He was a giant in this hobby, but had social issues that society doesn't tolerate, and in the end paid a large price for them. Many people have shuned his memory, and his work. I think the work should stand on it's own with or without the man. He did exaustive research. Thanks for showing this David. BTW, I tried to download an interview that was recorded with Breen years ago that is listed in the ANA libarary. I was unable and given the reason that the copy was not transferrable.?? I think they just don't want anthing to do with him.
