Here we can witness how complete concentration can get you through a performance where mayhem is everywhere. Bravo to Alina and Johann.

The audience doesn't suck. Ballet shouldn't be a circus, with people clapping and cheering when dancers do difficult things. It's an ART, so for me it's great that they remained silent, and appreciated in silence the beauty of Alina's moves.

Really amazing balance despite the slippery stage! Both her technique and acting are superb.

Oh my gosh, this is such perfection and such an unappreciative audience! I can barely watch when Alina pulls off something completely otherworldly and amazing and the audience doesn't respond at all! Anyways, her balances and extensions and artistry were amazing as usual. I'm so thrilled to see her dancing so well in such awful conditions, weather and audience being not the best! WE LOVE YOU ALINA! If I were there I would have cheered!

@Tanzgirl12 The performance took place in Nørre Vosborg, Jutland, Denmark. I know this, because I spend all my holidays nearby, and I remember the Entrance Gate..... It is just amazing.... as a big fan of the royal opera ballet I find out that their primaballerina did a performance in the abandoned region of Ulfborg.

there are comments around saying Black Swan is not Alina's best role. But look at her here, so malicious, and all the characterisations! No need for big jumps, just the postures, the tiny gestures, she makes it so interesting to watch, and so her, not just any other ballerina black swan she is dancing. and do i need to mention her technique? better than ever?

personally, I loved the performance. Just shows how true professionals handle themselves in any situation. My favorite though is the stage hand walking back and forth with a roll of duct tape and everything. obviously they had no regard for the performers.

There's so much conversation going on between them in this "dance-of-the-cold-shoulder" -- the balnces and turns aren't featured any more than the flirtation, which is exactly like petting a cat: suddenly she's had enough and has moved away before you know it, and just as suddenly she's interested again. AND it's outdoors and in the rain (well-lit, though).

@pixie0364 i guess it depends on the dancer but most professional dancers prefer the silence. they then feel like they've earned the clapping. to go into stage and receive a standing ovation makes you wonder if they're here to see you dance or simply to see you. there was once a russian ballerina that went on to stage and received a huge aplause. she bowed and left the stage. then said that the audience had clapped and so that meant she'd done her job and could leave...xD
@SuperBalletgirl10114 жыл бұрын
Her balances are amazing. It's so cool how it just starts raining and they still do a wonderful job. It's hard to dance outside. One time I had to dance in 85 F! Where and when was this and do you by any chance have the rest of the PDD?

@dancerlady73093 on the contrary!! they're an educated audience. to clap in the middle of something only distracts the dancers. ask any professional dancer, they'll say they prefer all the claps at the end. beautifull pdd by the way

Ok, I had to watch this twice, which in itself is no surprise, nor a bad thing, only that I had to watch it a second time because the first time I was too distracted by all those insensitive tools walking back and forth in plain sight behind the stage, behaving like bulls in a china shop. How little respect can one have for art?

The reason why her pointe shoes are ugly is because they get dirty as she practices and as time passes on. That shows you how much the dancer practices in those pointe shoes.
@owenselkirk14 жыл бұрын
the audience is the worst.. but she doesnt need them.. shes like BAM ill do it just cause i can
@kimmois111 жыл бұрын
Actually no, Cojocaru has very misshapen pointe shoes because she has one of the worst cases of bunions on any ballerina in the world and doesn't want to have them operated on until after she retires. She's known for having to have shoes specially made with a huge block to accommodate her bunions.
