Sir, greetings from Pakistan. Sir, its a greet feeling to see yourself back with a bang with another classic from Coke studio season 5. Sir, please accept best wishes for the new year and Christmas once again as i already wished yourself earlier while commenting on your reaction to When you wish upon a star by Jarrko Ahola that came on 25th December 2023. Sir, incidentally , our Father of the Nation, Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah known as "Quaid e Azam" (meaning "The Great Leader") who created Pakistan was also born on 25th December. Sir, the song and reactions were fantastic. The song is Coke Studio's version of an old song from a Pakistani motion picture soundtrack. Its one of the few occasions when one of the back-up vocalist "Rachel Viccaji" comes in a lead vocalist role. Military Band is extremely popular here in Pakistan particularly in important events of National importance but I am not too sure about this song whether they are actually from a military band or seasoned musicians dressed up in a Military band attire. Sir, I really missed two weeks of Coke studio music on this great channel but i extremely enjoyed each and every episode of the Rock 'N Roll series during that time. Best wishes for the success of the channel. With warm regards

So the original song from the movie is supposed to be seductive… ‘O cruel one’ or ‘zaalima’ is meant in an endearing manner… its connotation kinda changes when you translate it …if you check out the original you’ll see what I mean. This coke studio version is a different take on the original song.

Actually this song is a remake of a film song and originally it was sung by female singer only. The song lyrics are vulgar in original language (Punjabi) and meant for seducing the lover. But the English translation is quite decent. Not everything can be exactly translated from one language to another.
