🙂 Let me! What actually it is? These ladies (singers) are representing two phases of life ... Naseebo (starting singer) is presenting rough and tough time, which someone already gone through, you can clearly hear and feel the pain in her voice/tone (high pitched) and Abida Sahiba (2nd singer) presenting, calm and acceptance (aspects of life) harsh realities but at the end, after suffering they decided to compromise and saying "Tu Jhoom", means "live your life" 🙏 (Tu means you and Jhoom is dance form, but here it means ignore everything) rest of the ppl on stage performing as "World". Now keep the concept in your mind, focus on their lyrics (subtitles) you will definitely realize and have the sweet and sour taste of truth. 👍🏼 (Coke Studio Pakistan)

‘Tu Jhoom’ literally means to dance or swirl like a whirling dervish, and to be pulled into the still centre of your being, the sanctuary of sanctuaries. It is like finding the centre of a hurricane where there is only peace. The message of the spiritual poetry is that if you can live from your centre you can transcend the troubles of the world, live in the world whilst not being of it.

Tu Jhoom is one from season 14 that will definitely stay with me for long, compared to the other songs. It's just the deep lyrics. I enjoyed the other songs but Tu Jhoom isn't something I'd listen to enjoy only but to feel too ❤️

Bro we all had the same emotons after listening to this song, the lyrics are a main part of Coke Studio always and carry a greater messag most of the time. While that feeling of being going into trance while listening to this song is cz of these two legendary female singer specially Abida Parveen (one in blue dress and curly hairs) she is probably the greatest female singer alive she reaches your soul and grabs ur emotions and bring them out, many foreign vocal coaches who listen to her first time have been astonished by her well we have been enjoying going to another state while listening to her for quite some time. I suggest listen to her and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan song Chaap Tilak from earlier season.

I speak this dialect of Punjabi. What is being sung like the actual words is translated differently in english. If the actual words would be translated it would be very poetic with a lot of symbolism that only people from our culture can reference. for example the two words "tu jhoom" literally means "to spin" but it has many meanings especially when you add a particular emotion. The english translations being shown is what they are trying to say. Almost like Shakespeare. Actually exactly like Shakespeare. Hope this helps!

Your pronunciation was great. Don’t stress too much. Edit. Tu jhoom means to sway/ you should sway. Tu is you. And jhoom means to sway/swaying/spinning while swaying That’s why you see them moving from side to side. And also spinning with their hands above their heads Thus swaying. @@staceysmith8173 yes it does. Coke studio has had 4* different producers over the year. * some had a duo of producers. The first 7 seasons are not on the Coke Studio Pakistan YTchannel. Those are actually on the producers own YT channel. “Rohail Hyatt” Hopefully as time progresses we will get to his reaction to the first few seasons. Every season and all the specials are so different. It’s really an awesome experience. Same goes for the new Coke Studio Bangla. Its sticking to the roots that CS Pakistan had where as CS Pakistan is now changing it up. Its really great.

the literal translation of "tu jhoom" is "you should sway" or "to sway" . so they're saying to like, sway with the current of life, go with the flow and all that. tu jhoom is one of the more traditional, spiritual songs from this season of coke studio season 14, but still retains a contemporary feel. it's such a gem!
