That interlude midway through, where it took a small detour was/is reminiscent of Clean Bandit. I think people in their 40s will enjoy this track because these background beats were very much the vogue 20-25 years ago. Dance music was at its peak in the 90s. I would dearly love them to take that 'interlude/detour' and develop it. There is a hypnotical feel to it.

Haha those shades bhai saheb!!!! Kamaal. Personally for me, Tu Jhoom, Neray Neray and Pasoori but also Kana Yaari will remain the soul and spirit of Coke Studio 22. Peechay Hut for sure is peppy, tappy and yet deep with strong lyrics and message, and a beautiful diversity of ideas and approach fresh and youthful. You're so correct in that the song isn't melodic in a classy Desi sense. That is our problem, us sub continental listeners have been spoilt rotten by masters and maestros of such high caliber that we somehow set and keep that musical bar quite high. Having said that, I have always believed that red line between music and noise must be kept visible, and I'm glad with Peechay Hut, not only has CS kept up its promise to Ali Sethi's inclusive message, but also not crossed that line. Bring on Jhoom.... and whirl away next!
