This battle just showed how prepared colaps was for this gbb. It was a smart move from Zekka to use inward bass against colaps cuz of his defeat against d-low in Gbb19 however that drop at 3:49, using snore bass as a counter for inward bass beats, freaking insane dude. Plus we all had seen Zekka do inward bass in Kickback so im pretty sure Colaps had some gas in the tank for him beforehand in case he ever had to battle him. As one legend in the scene once said "Anticipation is Key", Colaps did the same thing i believe and took the W. Zekka smashed it as well, his 1st round is so well composed Also, why was Zekka so touchy with colaps😂

Even though Colaps and Zekka are friends, and it’s probably all good between them, it’s still important to discourage physical contact before it becomes a bigger issue. It’s very risky, and you never know how it will affect your opponent, especially if there’s a big gap in stage experience between them. Better to focus on the beatboxing skill. Dunno if it actually made the difference or not, will be interesting to hear from D-low or anyone who talked to the other judges.

I have re-watched this battle SO MANY TIMES , I’ve lost count. I love Zekka’s musicality/style/technique , he’s just insane and I was overall impressed by his performance (I had never heard of him before) , but Colaps is THE reason I come here often. I really love his sound , one of few favorites I’ve heard in this GBB. He’s inspired me to pick up beatboxing after having had given up on teaching myself years ago (Tom Thum was/is my main inspiration).

True but this is I think also because he really relied on having a complete routine for each round and countering only like 2 times. Not necessarily a bad thing (colaps’ rounds are crazy) but definitely noteworthy that this seems to be the strategy that’s just going to become more prevalent in high level beatboxing nowadays.
