The thing is, in the live setting, the messiness of the kaji beats wasn’t as apparently since he was consistently blowing out the sound system, and since he goes through them so fast, it’s hard to keep up with the mistakes. To me, that was a power move from Wing but in general this year's GBB was so reliant on power; they even removed the limiter this year so obiviously Kaji sounded painfully loud but lost a lot of cleanliness which the judges to my surprise didn't notice at all. Maube due to the things you guys mentioned with the loudness drowning the messy beats from Kaji.

I think Kaji won because he made the most 'in the moment' rounds, where the energy felt in the moment of the rounds was just superior to wing, thus in the moment, the judges felt that Kaji was better on the stage, although looking now at the full video, wing should have won. But when I was watching the livestream, I gave it to Kaji. When its live and the judges have to make a decision on the spot, Kaji simply felt superior because of the immediate energy, which is why he won. It also doesnt help that Wing's beatbox was pretty chill(didnt really interact with the crowd) and in contrast, Kaji had the attention of the whole crowd, which contributes to his deserved win at the time. 1:49 In the first place, people who jump around and beatbox like this aren't even thinking about doing it cleanly. It's a live show and a battle, so if it was decided by how beautiful it was, everyone would beatbox standing upright. Of course there are exceptions, but in a battle, the winner is the one who gets the audience excited. It's not a competition of how beautiful the technique is. There are props and things like that, which one was better on that day? Was it good? Was it cool? All of these are reflected in the audience's reaction. I don't think you should take the audience's judgment lightly. Of course you can listen to it later and decide which one is better. The people listening at the venue aren't listening to the mixed sound. The judgement for that day was that, and that's the end of it, and it won't be overturned.
@firasali9450Күн бұрын
The winner is most definitely NOT the one who gets the audience excited, its the one who the judges deem to have beatboxed better on the day. There are so many boxes to tick and so many different aspects to a battle and I think this year's GBB set of judges seemed to lean towards the performative aspect and tech heaviness over things like structure/cleanliness/consistency/musicality/timing. I just can't help but think that SOME of the beatboxers that made it further in the competition were ones whose styles resemble napom's the most, that raw animalistic rough around the edges style that loads you with tech and sounds but lacks in structure and design . All that being said I DO think the battle aspect of it needs to be remembered and there should be some sort of interactive beatboxing going on between the contestants as opposed to taking 2 min from a wildcard/showcase and performing it in a battle .

on live kaji was insane and surprising so it was hard to feel wings rounds even on the live stream mostly everyone thought kaji would win i was hoping wing to go through the final but maybe he didn’t prepare well ,the more i hear this battle the more i feel like kaji out shadowed wing even tho he wasn’t clean
@Luke.1779Күн бұрын
its easy to say they 'didnt prepare well' after they lose, I think wings rounds were thought-out and prepared well he just had a tough opponent on a tough sound system. kaji is brutal to battle

I don't know if it's because you're a major part of what got me so into beatbox about 5 years ago, but I had an extremely similar thought process, without the expertise 😂.

I think that’s Kaji’s style and he gave it everything. Also, I believe that he knew it was the only way to win against Wing who is one of the most technical beatboxers in the scene. I give him a lot of respect!

Perhaps the mastering sound and the music at the scene were different. I think the kaji volume may have been different at the scene. If you look at it simply with this video, I think it may be divided by the difference in taste

Just little cold ❄️🥶 what if d low also make video like Rolando 🎉❤

Even though I vote for wing but that second round from kaji fr me is the moment where I knew kaji already winning. Everyone still thinks bout wing's first round n kaji literally gives no time to let it slide. He overtook that round straight from the moment he started his Round.

Kaji is really insane, but I love much more the Wing style, is absolute crazy and clean af!! that's the reason for why he's my favourite beatboxer

Kaji cooked, ate and left no crumbs in Round 2. He sounded a bit unclean in a few drops but he won the energy of the crowd and the judges were going crazy.

But wing sounded better
@B-ACEBeatboxКүн бұрын
@AlmightyAnt300 No doubt in that, but judges clearly showed that they prefer heavy drops and power over polished beats and structured routines

Wings beat is like he is riding a horse while playing ping pong while playing the drums while reading a book while blindfolded. Insane.

Always been a fan of wing, he makes everything so damn easy and good sounding... When I try, that shi is really difficult to bring out as clean as him

Listening to the livestream, it was clear to me that Kaji should win. He fought a hard battle and sounded crisp doing so, while Wing sounded underwhelming and simplistic as if he was holding back. However, when listening to the uploaded video, I can now hear the sloppy parts of Kaji and the detailed textures/control of Wing, and would thus vote for Wing. The live sound system definitely played a part in Kaji's win. But as much as we can debate about power vs subtlety, and as much as I wanted Wing to win, Dan raises a very good point that a champion should be able to account for the sound system/settings/audience that they're presented with and be versatile enough to pivot as necessary to outperform their opponent.

Hm... if Beardyman was in the judge panel, he would pro'lly shout at Kaji: Oy! Bloody mental Gaaabbaaaah mate~ AAAAH! Ha-Ha-Haaa~ Sidenote though, interesting clash of styles and power. Love 'em both! 💗🎤🎶

I think one unfrotunate thing about battles is that they are less likely to reward artistry. It seems like judges often lean in favour of power, and moments. Wing's routines were so enjoyable to listen to.

For me, sonically, Wing's second round felt empty. Smooth and clean as hell, but sonically unfulfilling. His kicks didn't have enough kick, and there was no bass for an entire minute. I felt like his round was just starting when he had 5 seconds left. That said his first round slapped!

Everyone is talking about how good Kaji is in the field, but he has also been in a number of online battles in Corona and has done well.Of course, if they were in the same ring, Wing might win hands down, but Kaji definitely has a high level of skill, and being loud is not the only advantage he has (Please see the kaji playlist I publish).

Obviously hardstyle is not my favorite, but I truly think there’s a level of execution that could have been better. But I do like how despite their very different styles, Kaji and Wing still stuck to what they do best.
