Mariah is hilarious. I love that she's really comfortable with herself. A few years ago, she was really self-conscious and we would not have seen an interview like this. If anyone thinks she is "overtalking", watch a video of her being interviewed in 2016/17 and you will see how she gave 1 line answers and was very visibly sad.

@@misterbennnn she had a bunch of stuff going on, she has bipolar disorder so there was that revelation and i dont think she was taking care of herself. Also her manager was quite a horrible person and did a bunch of stuff and used her for fame. She seemed like a shell of herself back then. Then in 2017/2018, she fired the manager and suddenly we could see the difference before and after.

I totally agree with you. Since the pandemic she really became very comfortable with herself. I guess the process of writing her book really helped her in so many ways. Nowadays she’s very relaxed, fun and focused more on having a great time than portraying the superstar that she is.

The band did something pretty incredible at the end there. They certainly had a practiced song to use as the outro, but once they started jamming with Mariah Carey they filled it out (with harmony nicely layered in!) and used that instead. It may not be the most complicated little riff, but they got it to a great place instantly. I'm sure it took no more than a little nod from Louis to confirm that this was the new plan and it all came together seamlessly.

Their energy comes from very different places and they don't know each other well enough to know what to expect from each other (and thus know when to hang around a topic or move on), but when she starts going off with the music at the end you can see her warm up immensely in just a few seconds. It really is her element! I hope she comes back so she can show a little more with a bit more assuredness from both parties, and maybe show off some music with the band!

That is so true. I still feel sorry for her that she hasn’t been able to overcome her self hate of the one side of her face she continues to avoid showing to the camera. I just don’t understand it because I see a very attractive woman on both sides of her face but insecurities really do a number on us.
