Stephen is like one of the only interviewers who knows how to interview a 12 year old. Most either treat them like babies, or they try to act the same age as them. Stephen just acted his age and spoke to her like a normal kid.

+dal brokenbody You can take it down a few notches there chief, of course she's a great actress, I just mean that like the rest of the kids in the cast, off camera they still seem like kids. They're full of amazement of their newfound fame, intrigued by things, scared of silly things like a bungalow. Unlike past child stars that appear on talk shows and seem droll, and coached to say all the right things and show such reverence to their costars and pretend like they're aware of their previous work.

Am I the only one who thought this interview was super trippy? This girl is 12 but she's obviously extremely intelligent for her age and she's picked up very adult-like mannerisms (I assume from all of the adult interactions she has had with her career and sudden fame). But then she says certain things that remind you that she's only twelve and has no recollection of anything prior to around like 2006. It was a really weird juxtaposition, kinda gave me the chills tbh
@GarimaBanerjeeA_Random_Nut
@GarimaBanerjeeA_Random_Nut 8 жыл бұрын
You know what though, many girls of her age do that (i.e. pick up adult mannerisms quickly), & everyone starts wondering how they'll turn up when they grow up.... but most of them turn out to be perfectly normal & well mannered... even reserved! It's just a phase, nothing serious enough to give you "the chills".... However the girls I'm talking about were not in the entertainment industry... so what Hollywood does to her is yet to be seen... I hope for the best, cuz she's so talented!

Yeah I don't want to speak too hastily but I feel like Hollywood companies now take into account casting kids with a strong family support system and/or take more care of their mental health as these kids grow up in the industry- at least more now than before. For example, in the sixties, seventies, and eighties parents could take all their children's money and spend it and there were a few cases like that, whereas now there's a law in place where parents can't touch their kids bank account.

"More eloquent than a Kardashian". 1. Why would you ever use them as a benchmark for that? That's like saying an eagle flies 10 times better than a dead whale. Sure, that may be true, but whales aren't known for flying. 2. That is a really low bar to pass.

People fighting over if she acts like a kid or an adult. Here's the thing, she's kind of both. She's incredibly intelligent for a 12-year-old - she's witty, charming, smart, etc.. but she's also very animated and has that innocence and imagination that only a kid could have (or very few adults). I say it's just her personality. I doubt that she'll change growing up.

She's home schooled for one. Her agent is probably going through truckloads of scripts now and waiting for Stranger Things to start shooting again. Right now I think she's simply enjoying the success for herself and the show. And she gets to fly all over the world to attend cons and talk shows. She and her family have sacrificed alot over the last few years. Lots of tears were shed. There is a daily mail article about it. I applaud her success and I can't wait to see her continued success in the future. May she continue to take on challenging roles.
