she's being very modest. at the very least you'd have to have a very creative mind to think of things like "a freeze frame of a painting". reminds me of a quote attributed to Picasso: "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child." she's the same with how she thinks about things. only a child would question self evident things like why a painting doesn't move.

Morgan didn't write it. Charlie Brooker did.
@daniellamcgee425141 минут бұрын
@@anthonyparkinson4517Yes, it is scripted, but not all of it. She has to start with the script, and be flexible with the script, and improvise in character to adapt to the interviewee. So, it requires a lot of on-the-spot creativity from Dianne. Her improvisations have to blend seamlessly with the scrpt, including her off-the-cuff jokes. She also improvises physical humour. Diane Morgan explained this in an interview with Richard Herring.
@anthonyparkinson451716 минут бұрын
@@daniellamcgee4251 I accept there's a certain amount of improv needed but we've no idea what is and isn't and how much makes it into the final cut. I saw her interviewed about this years ago and she was miffed about not getting a writing credit then and yet to this day the sole credit is Brooker's. Probably says more about his fragile ego than it does her contribution.

The writers on all Cunk shows and especially this latest 'Cunk on Life' are absolutely brilliant. I loved that the writers upped the ante for the latest one. And of course Diane Morgan is perfect as Philomena Cunk.
@herlandercarvalho8 сағат бұрын
Not sure how much of it is writing. While I am aware that most television (even Reality TV) are scripted, the premise of the show is that she gets to talk with real life specialists, that while aware that it is for a comedy show, they don't know what are the questions she will make, and you can see from some of the specialists reactions, so much of it can't be scripted. Are there several takes made and the best ones picked? For sure. But the premise of the show really doesn't make sense with a script.
@toms59968 сағат бұрын
@@herlandercarvalho I absolutely agree that all 'Cunk' shows are a mixture of writing, ad lib by Morgan, the way she delivers the lines and just her persona. She IS the show. In the latest show especially, however, the writers slipped in quite a few complicated jokes, though. Jokes that on the surface are tame but in the context of history and culture are extremely offensive. That's what I liked 'Cunk on Life' the most - there were extremely offensive jokes in it that wouldn't fly in today's politically correct climate but had references to history and culture in a way that few even noticed how offensive the show actually is.
@daniellamcgee425127 минут бұрын
@@toms5996P.C. Is about not continuing with racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, etc. to minimise the normalisation and continuation of the systemic problems of dehumanising and discriminating against these people, which has resulted in human rights being denied, violence against them, and death. Lives of people in certain demographics isn't worth it for a bigots laugh. Hopefully bigots' is not so limited, and they can find other things than punching down un vulnerable people, funny. Humour making a mockery of absurd discrimination is absolutely acceptable. But people get so emotional, and don't see the distinction. They get all upset thinking all reference to their beloved hate speech is taken away from public platforms. 😢
