If John Hodgman ever returns to the Daily Show, I want him to do the character of Sebastian Gorka. He may not have the British accent but he does the pseudo-intellectual nonsense speaker perfectly. I did like his style, and wouldn't mind more of it. Too bad he's not a close friend of Colbert or Stewart but IMO he's another great comic who was once on a great late night show.

A hot dog is absolutely a sandwich because a sandwich is named after the Earl of Sandwich who would use bread to hold his meat so that the grease would not dirty his fingers. Therefore, any food that is consumed while being held in bread would be a sandwich.

A hot dog is a sandwich. Fact. The hot dog is the type of sausage in between the bread which makes up the sandwich, people are just lazy and don't call it a sandwich when buy one just like they don't always say I am going to buy a subway sandwich and just tend to abbreviate to (whatever filling) sub. When you buy the sausages for hot dog sandwiches you buy 'hot dog sausages'. After you stick that in between the split/two halves of the bread it becomes a sandwich just like a subway is a sandwich regardless of whether say the word sandwich or not when buy one. Point is Stephen's right and John is wrong. :)
