He did a damn good job. I read an interview he did and he said he only had like 24-48 hrs to research everything Snoop on KZbin, before filming his scenes. F. Gary Gray and Snoop both asked Nipsey, and he declined. Lakeith Stanfield did good as Snoop considering how much time he was given to learn the man.

To sum it up, he doesn't want to be remembered as the guy playing Snoop trying to be a rapper as his music hasn't taken off. Snoop said he understood and respected his decision.

Movie was great.. however, they should have showed the beef between Dre and Eazy. And why did they make Dre appear so tough?
@sahr94
@sahr94 9 жыл бұрын
Dre wasn't going to be involved until F. Gary Gray was appointed director and Cube had to convince him because the original script had Dre beating up women and some other shit he wanted to keep in the past so he brought in his own writer (can't remember his name) to heavily edit the parts where Dre would be seen as a 'bad guy'. People took notice of those missing scenes that's why he apologized about his woman beating past to the public not long ago to minimize the backlash
@DiverseLA
@DiverseLA 9 жыл бұрын
+mrhoopsfan23 Because Dre was directly involved with the movie, so of course he wanted to make himself look good. Dre was a toughguy knocking out Suge's boys, Dre never had beef with Eazy, Dre never beat up women, Dre was recording with Tupac while Eazy-E was in the hospital even though Tupac was in jail and wasn't signed to Death Row during that time, and Dre was a righteous superhero who saved the day. At least that's how Dre wanted himself portrayed. I liked the movie, don't get me wrong. But it's a mix of reality and fantasy.
@chaelmavik
@chaelmavik 9 жыл бұрын
+mrhoopsfan23 idk I thought they made Dre look as objective as possible. He wasn't a banger, back then you mighta thought different during the death row days. They should've shown the beef though between Eazy E and Dre more though, because both of their diss songs were hard

He must have been paying close attention to how Eazy E did live performances. Everything from the walk, head movement and broad gestures. With the glasses on, I forgot I was watching a damn movie for a minute. Great performance. As for O'Shea, it was a great performance too, and quite honestly him being Cube's son makes it all the more remarkable. It could have been a terrible vanity project, but he gave us Young Cube again basically.

Besides Eazy being the owner, street cred, no one can replace Eazy voice, cadence , delivery as a lyricist . Snoop is amazing but Eazy was perfect for gangster rap, along with cube and ren
@tashabetta1947
@tashabetta1947 8 жыл бұрын
The only issues I had with the pic - and I attribute it to Cube and something called Artistic License is the following: Eazy downgrading to that 3 Bedroom little house and of course Suge Knight putting hands on Eazy. Neither as we know is true. Eazy was never broke. He maintained his Calabasas home. And Eazy was well respected. Even Suge knew better than to ever try Eazy like that.

I saw the movie last night. I was extremely disappointed in how they portrayed Easy. They portrayed him as a soft dude that had his career ruined by cube and dre. Dre and cube came off as badasses when we all know they weren't up to Easy's level of gangster. Great movie that also left me disappointed.

Now we need an accurate Eazy E movie that shows nobody touched him or intimidated him, that he never went broke and that he never envied Dre and Deathrow because the acts he had coming up were at the time the best! Bone Thugs, Dresta, BG knocc out.. The movie spat on Eazy and Yella

The only things that I didnt like was how dre got represented. They represented him as a absolute gangster and badass. Even tho mc ren for example was way more gangster than dre. And another thing that I hated was how they showed eazy lived in his last months. Almost in every interview where they talked about eazy, they told us that eazy didnt lived like they showed us in the movie. In the Movie he looked a little bit broke and as if he was living in a little house even tho many people said he still had his mansion-like house, and still had a lot of money. And the last thing I didn’t liked about the movie was how they left so many important people out of this movie. For example dresta and bg knoccout. They were in on of the best disstracks of all time as a feature how could they be left out. Or bone thugs wasnt included too. Which is a shame. But in the end it was a pretty solid movie.

I don't think he was saying it wasn't good I think he was saying it wasn't as much of a stretch for him as it was for the actor who played Eazy-E. It would have taken a lot more for that guy to portray a man that he never met In comparison to someone's son who has lived with him all his life looks like him and has his mannerisms to portray him.

Jason Mitchell did great as a version of his Eazy. But Lil Eazy and Yung Eazy should have gotten a chance to portray their father. People saying they were not actors. Neither was Oshea Jackson Jr.!! Loved the movie, but my opinions have shifted a little due to everybody's interviews. I knew about Dre whopping those women's asses so I knew that wasn't gon be in the movie. Ok fine, but certain things with Eazy E seemed a little inaccurate and cloudy. That scene when Dre called him "standing up" to Suge seemed so embellished. He knew he sent Suge's lawyers some paperwork.

Yeah I don't know how much into hip hop you are, but if uou can check out the new Master P interview with Breakfast Club he always keep it real on every subject. He said about the movie it was hood, but they made Eazy a bit softer saying he hung out with him and he could go anywhere any hood he wanted to cause he was respected. He say the Eazy he knew wouldn't let Suge beat him up like that and he not retaliate somehow.

If Vlad is in his late 30's like me and a fan from the jump I can relate with him %100. So much that was in the movie WAS well documented. We read magazines like "word up" watched these guys on yo mtv raps, so yeah we knew a lot about these guys. I could even tell you the years when events were taking place in the movie. Real fans like us knew that shit. Death row history too.

The major inaccuracy that stood out was the pool party. None of those women had "nice" bodies like the 90s chicks and their bathing suits were also not from the 90s. The costume director failed horribly on that scene.

Straight Outta Compton Would Be So Much Better If They Separated The Reality From The Fantasy. They Should've Added The Beef With Dre And Eazy. The Beef With Cube And Pac. Dre Beating On Women. Eazy Finding Bone Thugs. Ren Leaving And Focusing On His Solo. Dre Finding Eminem And Working More On Snoop,Warren And Nate. Eazy's Kids. And If They Just Could've Played Crossroads And Chin Check And Gave Eazy A Funeral And Elude To The Fact The Yella Was The Only One Dere.How Ren And Cube And Dre And Bonethugs Was Heart Broken And How Yella Was Working On His Tribute Remastered Track It Will Be Awarded For Everything In The Planet
