COLD AIR INTAKE INSTALL | TIBURON BUILD PART #15 | AEM INTAKE

I have been getting crap about the intake on my car since my first build video. It was never meant to be permanent! Today we finally replaced it with what should've been there all along.
This is an AEM cold air intake. I opted for the blue piping to match the rest of my engine bay. I am happy with the quality!
Words of wisdom for beginner builders...
Do NOT buy the short ram intakes. They are not beneficial in anyway. And if you buy a cheap one like I did, then you'll likely run into problems. One major issue I had with my cheap intake was it kept falling off. The cone filter had to be glued several times to prevent it from coming apart! And when it did, it made my car run terribly. So be cautious about what you install.

Haha get it done! Spring is approaching! I haven’t driven it yet bc of the salt, as I don’t drive mine in the winter. But I’ll be sure to do an update when it’s back on the road! Do you have a CAI?

@@taylorjhaug for sure give us an update! I have one that needs refurbishing I just haven’t been able to get to it because of an injury 😩 but I hear they really mess with the MAF and make you run lean but apparently some people have gotten around it

Love watching these videos man, keep 'em coming! How much did these parts set you back $? And are you sure the engine won't hydrolock if the air filter is in a place like that on a rainy/foggy day? One of the guys in the tiburon forums hydrolocked his tib from fog because he had the foglights without the solid plastic cover behind it, so he has the one that you also have where air gets through..

I honestly am not sure. I thought about that problem. I was thinking of getting some sort of cover for it that way it’s shielded more. But so many people have ran these with no issues, so idk what I’ll do

@@taylorjhaug I think the least you can do is put a water shield around it, it's like a little net that doesn't let small droplets in. A puddle will not care about the net though. Maybe you can get the different front bumper from the tiburon with the covered foglights! Can I ask how much $ this CAI cost you?

@@teunb5089 I saw the net cover. So I’ll at the least do that. However I have plans to do the body so maybe I’ll be okay when I change the bumper. I bought this for $200, was on sale!
