1. There was a recall on the engine to stop the burning oil. You may not have had the repair done. That same defect will cause your plugs to foul earlier than usual so check your spark plugs and you may get back some of that lost power. 2. I can't get past your check engine light. I always see a car that gets a muffler or a CAI and a young driver loves the sound so much they punish that old engine. Remember all the seals, gaskets, sensors, and internal parts are still 15 years old so be careful. If you are burning oil you have more friction which causes more heat. Heat kills engines so check your oil often. 3. Its a fun car so enjoy it. I have one with well over 200k miles. Its easy to work on and it will treat you how you treat it. If it tells you it has a problem, listen to it.

Hahha thanks for the advice. When I had the car I checked the oil weekly since the k series burn oil. But I do have a tsx now and a Tl. Super fun cars.

Will Honda fix the burning oil recall if I go to the dealer? I have a 09 Accord 4 cylinder that burns crazy oil. Super annoying to topping it off with oil every month

@nate6430 I honestly think they won’t, but it wouldn’t hurt to check. If they do then that’s amazing because I know the struggle of topping of the oil every week or 2.

@@nate6430 yes!, i have an 08 accord and they fixed it. I had to do an oil consumtion test to prove it burned oil.

I must've gotten lucky, mine doesn't burn a drop as long as I've owned it. 161k miles! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it gets Lucas oil stabilizer at every oil change?? I've never had the consumption issue with the K24, but maybe one of the previous owners got the recall done, as my VIN pops up no recalls to perform.

change ur pcv valve it will fix oil burning issues i had changed the pcv now it not burning oil anymore

Wish that was the case with me😭. Ya that was the first thing I did. Later on I ended up finding out that my piston rings are basically dead. Blue smoke coming out at every stop or throttle pick up. Thanks for the advice tho! 😁🙏🏼

Hey bro one suggestion I recommend highly recommend is getting a couple cans of Restoric engine restore but get the one for 4 cylinders it reduces oil consumption practically stops it I use it for my 2020 Kia optima and it stop burning oil literally stopped it, and instant didn’t get it at Napa or O’Reilly’s but get a couple cans and use it every two weeks until you see it stop falling low that stuff works wonders better than I thought. 😅 But don’t worry I will be getting out of my price of crap Kia 😂😂and be getting a 2009 Honda Accord Exl 2.4L and I too will be using the Restoric engine restore myself

lol, wish I did this when I had the car. Moved on to something different. But I would honestly recommend getting a v6. Coupe manual would be a keeper. Or a manual 4 banger if you are trying to build it. Imo the v6 is a better and easier platform to make money without dumping too much bread. 4 cylinder motor isn’t the best to push power, but there are lots of options to do swaps. K24a2, k24a2 with k20 head etc.

I have been a bit hesitant on whether to install CAI cause of hydrolock concerns... have you had any issues with heavy rain? I was also considered SRI with heatshields and dividers.. but not really looking forward into all that extra labor of DIYing...

@@FastlaneHero my '11 is a manual LX, K24z2, 91k miles right now. Best tank I ever had I got 638 miles out of it, it took 17.2 gallons to refill. But that was a 100% highway run. Lol I get 16.8 mpg in my Hemi Ram. To be under 20mpg in a k24 accord, you either have an issue or drive like a fool.

Lately in my area the rain has been really bad. I try my best to avoid big puddles or I go slow through them. I did put a hydro shield on it just in case. Definitely one of my biggest fear is hydrolocking the motor.

Stay tuned 😁 and thank you for subscribing! Means a lot! Also, I do believe the rbc intake manifold fit on our accord motors but you’ll have to change the vtc actuator when installing the manifold. The inductions noises are brutal with a upgraded manifold. And most likely you’ll need to get a tune for it so you don’t drive too lean or rich.

Ayy thanks bro! I drove through some big storms and didn’t hydro lock the motor but it’s a gamble. I tried to dodge everything, but some couldn’t. The fender liner saved it mostly. If you do go with cai make sure to get a good hydro shield. It repels the water. Even with it still try to dodge big puddles and anything that can get water on the intake.

Cold air intake kits for 8th Gen Accord EX 2.4L - waste of money, time and effort...and in the long run just ends up damaging your engine and ruining your air flow sensor. Also, it's a great way to check if your Check Engine light works - cuz after you install this POS it's gonna stay on no matter what.

I’m sorry you had a problem with the check engine, my car never gave me a cold for the intake or any issue with the air flow. Also the car felt much more better! Car didn’t feel like it was hesitating.
