I really like this weather analysis Travis. I also watch another channel focused on Ag weather. He typically has a longer video with different maps/animations. Nevertheless, he also is thinking that January will be turning colder for the same reasons you cite. Anyway, like you say, "it is something to watch over the coming days". Thanks again for putting this channel up. I think the growth you have seen over the last few weeks is good positive feedback for sure.

RIght now the forecast for my area for Sunday is in the single digits Monday night into Sunday with a high in the teens. A little warmer (30's) wet shot from the gulf would give us snow that we haven't really seen much of yet. I'm starting to think that the reason we had such big snows when I was a kid was because it was WARMER then. The cooling trend we've been in has resulted in less snow. Funny how that works.

I'm just an armchair meteorologist. Just based on what we have seen so far and recent in Winter's. I think any real cold is going to be brief, two maybe three days and mostly dry. Then it's back to above normal and wet.

Well, the long-term outlook was always pointing toward above average temps and below average precip for the east for January and February, which has pretty much become the norm, at least anecdotally, so no one should be surprised if that's what pans out.
@tyreseforren67216 күн бұрын
It was never pointing towards mild and dry in the east did you just see the models
@jasonsmith3736 күн бұрын
@tyreseforren6721 averaging out the long-range forecasts issued late summer/early fall showed most of the eastern half of the country with the exception of the Upper Midwest above average or equal chances for temps and equal chances to below average precip. The Mid-Atlantic and Northeast was above average temps and below average precip.
@tyreseforren67216 күн бұрын
@jasonsmith373 that's was 3 months ago the models have trended much cooler in the Eastern sense then

I enjoy your weather forecast and your accuracy !!!. But we are going into another boring warm and snowless pattern. For the past 3 years the warm weather has dominated in ALL 4 seasons. So this Winter ❄️ is no different.

Why do people even do this. MJO is going into phase 7 and on its way to strong 8 by end of January. February it shows that is gonna slow down and drag thru phase 8 and phase 1 thru end of March

Troposphere and Stratosphere polar vortex numbers are showing that Northern Hemisphere and North America are finally going to see winter on east coast. It's been 7 years troposphere polar vortex been bottled up & the pattern finally breaking up. We haven't seen a strong hold MJO 8 -1 in long time. Unless something crazy happens way up atmosphere that's gonna happen. But what worries me is why n what's going on that It took so long for strong 8-1 to flip. Last time I saw this strong an 8-1 was when I was in college back in 1993. And to see these kinda of readings in troposphere stratosphere.

Don't start getting political. I noticed your little esoteric snippet at the beginning of the video about North America warming-up. If you start getting political and preaching to us about global warming - I'm out. Save your politics for a political channel; just give the weather without editorializing about global warming.

What are you talking about. The entire North American continent will warm next week due to the pattern. Trust me, you have no clue about my political viewpoints based on your comment. I’m trying to Make Weather Great Again.

@@WeatherWithTravis Ok, then I apologize if I took your comment about North America warming-up the wrong way. I thought you were slipping-in a little comment about climate warming .
