sales person was a jackass here. I'd be pissed as hell if I was this guy's manager. DoEs It MaKe SeNsE tO caLl In 30 DaYs? -- after being told over and over to be taken off the list. Just a waste of time. Read the room. We get it, you're getting just one more jab in to puff up your ego but this kind of stupid shit just gives sales people a bad name and almost certainly guarantees this prospect will bad mouth the company. He's definitely never going to buy, so jump off trying to make it into a joke and move on with your day. Just hang up.

It’s important to remember that as SDRs 39.90/40 hours are boring as shit. These are literally the calls I live for and if I had that guy on the other line I’d be having some with him too lol

Even in the best spirits, when you do this all day every day it can take a toll on you. Sometimes making light of a situation that could otherwise significantly impact your mood and performance is the best way for an SDR to handle this. He didn't say anything overtly inappropriate, in fact I'd say given the prospect's tone he was quite professional and composed. One thing I've always been told is "You can't burn a bridge that doesn't exist" If a man starts yelling at you and clearly isn't going to buy, why not use the next minute and a half to practice being composed in hostile conversations and get an entertaining recording. I see what you're saying, but as a manger this isn't a battle worth fighting. When your employee gets treated this way the best thing to do is to support them however they chose to handle it and remind them that these one-off situations are not what you need to be thinking about or stressing over. In the end, if this SDR was me, and my manager's feedback after this call was to be pissed at ME? And give me coaching? Nah man. This dude was out of line. No customer, or person, has the right to speak to someone the way this man spoke to the SDR. Acting like the SDR is in the wrong after an interaction like this will end up having a much worse direct effect on the business due to that paid employee's morale and performance than anything this man could say. The business will be okay without him, and all of his friends. It's just a cold call, it's not that deep.
