Spring can't be that far up ahead!

Great video , I like cold start video why , I live in Canada where cold should be our first name from November until the end of March, LOL , In the mid 90's i worked for a Komatsu equipment dealer in Winnipeg where i live , we sold Komatsu and we also serviced everything else , we had no showroom so everything was outside and the Komatsu stuff new or old were always the easiest to start and the other makes came 2nd or 3rd ,etc, our temps probably average -22-32 celsius so in the -25 Fahrenheit range , thats a challenge for any equipment, if they ever do a remake of the movie Christine maybe they would include your Autocar Diesel truck that would be cool, keep them coming, just for laughs my daily is a 89 Volvo 240 DL with 335k on it and has never been open just lots of regular maintenance and it fires everyday even through this last crazy cold spell we had for about 18/19 days at temps as low as -44 twice plus windchill, well thank goodness for block heaters , even the Volvo had a tough time getting going ,keep them comin 👍

Is there any value to regularly conducting this sort of exercise, maybe not on the vehicles and equipment at home, but on the bigger items, on a regular basis? We had a 93 XJ that we bought new in 93 in Eugene Oregon and took to Keesler AFB and back home to Northern California. (and a trip to Missouri and Florida thrown in during the Mississippi years) If only I wasn't so damn tall I'd own one. Couldn't fit in ours when I was first learning to drive, sure as hell couldn't now that I'm 6'10. I'm freaking because there's a 74 2dr Cherokee for sale close by to me and my dad had a Wagoneer when I was little that I have pictures of me stripping paint on it at like 4. A mech tip (info) from my own experiences. A quick mist spray of wd40 seems to work better, for cold starting stubborn diesels, than the ether style starting fluid does. ( The wd40 seems to act as a thin fuel oil temporarily sealing and lubricating the rings a little until the injectors pump up and work. But that is only with a small mist of the stuff, too much of any fluid can hydrolock an engine.) Also some of the ethers may cause future engine wear if they are not diesel fuel compatible (such as excessive combustion force when cranking.) Though the micro amount of ether shown and used in this video, it probably won't cause that much of wear. Just some info.

Shit man... the 461 is a pretty nice saw. I've built a few of those for customers. Was a foreskin for a tree cervix for many years, and I am a saw nut. I have put together a whole bunch for customers. Some modded a little, others a lot. I own some Stihl and some Husky. Each has their strong suits, for instance an 880, or a 372xp. Both awesome pieces of equipment. Anything done to the 461? A fella can gain quite a bit just by opening up the muffler and advancing the timing. I've done a few of the 461's with a dual port, timing advance, big bore with a meteor/ cabers, porting, max flow filter, carb swap, etc.... I'm a real sucker for a good bar/ chain, 3/4 wrap, stihl roller/ dogs, etc. I own a 440 mag (fully built) which is the closest in my personal collection in size.
