The pulaski is an interesting option. I've not seen one that size. Most of my experience with them was as a young man during my stint as a wildland fire fighter. It was very effective and versatile tool that took a LOT of abuse. The adze was used the most - cutting fire trail and mop-up. The axe saw the odd bucking and root pruning duties. I recall my opinion being favorable of it.

Well living where I do there is less than zero chance of me having to use it for fire fighting but it ought to be fun all the same.

Interesting comparison of three different axes. I was surprised of the Trail Hawk, the looks of a toy but doing a grown mans work. Looking forward to be inspired of your cooking shows. All the best Steve!

😆That poor dog was staring at your breakfast just waiting for you to share. Although, he doesn't seem to be starving to death. 😆Thanks for the demonstrations, buddy. I really dig that trail hawk, I'd like to get one of those for my hunting pack. Cheers!

That dog is constantly begging and upstaging me. He would carry on like that big he was full of rib-eye! 😉

I am looking forward to it too - Hummus is great but flesh is definitely better.

Thanks for the mention Steve, nice batch of cutting tools amigo! The Pulaski is a favorite on the firelines and with the trail crews here in Montana....I like the look of that German made axe...I'm glad you revisited your Trailhawk...my Four Dog Bushcooker should be under the xmas tree here in a few weeks and I'll put it up against my old Bushbuddy stove...God bless!....woods

Happy New Year Woods!! What can I say, the trail hawk revisit is on you and I am pleased to say I was paying attention. The Bison is a big lump of a thing my jury is still out on that one. I think it looks very Roman

To my surprise Instead of a Bushcooker there was a Silky Gomboy and a pair of Schnees Pac boots beneath my tree!!!!...Seems I had mentioned the gomboy to the wife first...oh well, got a birthday in May, so I reckon i'll have to wait...LOL...You have a great 2024 Steve and God bless!...woods

lol! Made my day seeing you with the Pulaski!!! I’m looking forward to seeing what modifications you make on it. The black coating keeps that part from rusting but wood splinters get stuck in it so I took it off the axe part. She’ll rust in a heartbeat so ya gotta watch that. You must be feeling better since you’re out splitting wood. Cheers mate!!!

One of the advantages of KZbin is you can learn from those who know more than you do. Standing, albeit broke from the latest kit purchase, on the shoulders of giants

Poor puppy! Slavering for a hunk of that sourdough, but did Dog's Best Friend come through? Oh, a dog's life, indeed!

It was still warm and you shouldn’t eat warm bread 😆 Actually like most of his kind he has a dicky tummy and we have to be conservative about what we give him. Also unlike my wife I do not approve of begging

A disturbing thought, but you’re right, in the right hands a fearsome Gimli-esk weapon

Billy is what KZbin calls a bush pot or what used to be called a boiler or a kettle.
