I bought 2 of these Mtech copies a few years ago. I tested them battoning through logs so large that only the very tips protruded from. I beat the holy shi* out of them, more then i would feel comfortable pounding my Junglas through, and they held up. I paid $15 a piece for them and I was amazed.

I got one of the MTechs a few years back. I think I paid $18. That Chineseum steel is certainly hard. I wanted to reprofile the edge to convex. Even my most aggressive stone would barely do anything. Ended up starting with a file, going to heavy grit sandpaper and then the stones. It took a while but I did finally get a nice, sharp convex edge on it. I stripped the coating from mine - didn't see the need for it on stainless and I think it looks better without it.

Yep, some of those Mtechs are just a good budget beater knife and they do a great job of duplicating the original....Nice show down....Good stuff....

Good luck finding the Mtech 151 they are discontinued I got one used on ebay for a higher price than it originally cost when it was in production but you can't find them anymore unless someone decides to part with it so it was worth paying a little more

I will have to get an Mtech after seeing this. I had a Trail Master in the original Carbon V. Too bad it was stolen. Would like to get another but those 3V models are pricey !

Do some batoning with that Mtec and see if it survives

I gotta get me another Trailmaster by Cold Steel got 3 or 4 of those MTech 151 they are very good ole knives , especially for camping and the Trailmaster is a camping tool also but I prefer it more as a martial art implement of self defense ⚔️🎯

Yes that is some pretty hard wood. Looks like the mtech held it's own for being thinner stock and less quality steel. That guard looks crooked. I'd still like to have the Cold Steel though. Thanks for the nice review. 🗡️👍🔪

Yeah. They are awesome. I have 2. But the Mtech 151 is a beast too for 25 bucks

@@peterbiltknifeguy I will have to get one of them as well some time down the road. I was extremely surprised by its performance. Both are definitely good knives especially considering how budget friendly they are.
