My heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandmother. Another outstanding video! Thanks for the time and work you put in to make these. I look forward to seeing part two and the modifications you make on the axe. I'm also excited to see what you have planned having three of these to throw! It will be interesting and make for some amazing throwing!! Thanks again, Wes!

I have one of these axes in the trunk of my car, I wrapped the handle about half way up with spalding padded tennis racket grip for a better grip and to protect the handle.

I've had this said axe, for several years. I have yet to try throwing it, mostly because my target is a tad small. I removed the set screw, filled that in with a bolt, filed it down flush, then sanded, and polished the axe head, they blued it with Birchwood Casey Perma Blue. Its a good axe, for what it is. Yes, said axe has the one degree eye. So yes the handle is "Tear Drop". But, that makes it very easy to figure out edge alignment, even in the dark, or if your in a hurry to deploy the axe. All my Tomahawks have said type of handle, and I personally like them. Yes, I have put my Viking Hand Axe on a shorter Cold Steel Tomahawk handle, but it was maybe 2 inches too short, Just did not feel right. So its back on the 30 inch handle, for reach :) The two hanging up, you can add a strip of sand paper between the head and handle, to you have a better fit, and more handle out the top. I also use a bit of hot glue to hold the head on. But people have been using Hot Glue of one type or another, for a very long time.

Yeah the reach of the 30” handle makes total sense. I could see how someone may want the length of the handle for different scenarios! Yeah to each his own. I normally can feel the weight difference on a bit heavy axe so picking one up for me would be easy to determine if it’s backwards or not in the hand. Especially if it’s not a straight handle. Whatever works! Did you send me your info for the Dewalt hatchet?

I have a couple of the frontier hawks by Cold Steel. Cut the handles down to about 14", they throw great. I don't love friction fit, but for $30ish can't complain. Plus they got replacement handles. Sorry to hear about your Grandmother.
