I used the practice version when I took a class to learn how to fight with a tomahawk. I learned that they are deadly and very fast.

Mrtlsimon, agreed. Amazing how effective a few ounces of sharpened steel can be when you put it out twenty inches on a stick.. I like the reach a Tomahawk gives, and the hook/grapple option. The wooden handle tomahawks break down easily for storage and travel, so it takes little effort to keep one handy.

Thanks for the video. I prefer the original/traditional line from Cold Steel. The weight, balance and heft work better for me, plus I just prefer the wood handle. Nothing wrong with the Trench Hawk or the War Hawk, they seem quite fine. Cold Steel makes training hawks at a very affordable price. I would recommend folks trying those out, just to see how versatile and effective Tomahawks really can be. It is difficult to explain tomahawk fighting without a physical demonstration. Or maybe watching some of Lynn Thompson's videos of tomahawk fighting. It worked pretty well for our forefathers, so I believe it can't be a complete waste of effort.

Cut the spike off, I did on the war and trench hawk....more user friendly in practical situations...and less self inflicting on the offensive side.

My personal preference is the SOG tactical, the head is more substantial and a bit weightier. I split half a ton a ton of ironbark, an Australian hardwood, I know it can take abuse.

Great video, thx for the review. About the ranger bands that you used on the grip, could you provide a link or tell us the size of the bands so those who want could purchase them and make the grip non-slippery. Liked and subscribed.

I purchase a bag a various sizes on Amazon. I can’t remember the specific brand. If you type in Ranger bands you’ll get a bunch of options.

thks for the review i had seen some people saying that its a little bit heavy ans hard to maneuver what do you think of the overall balance of that axe?
@armeddefender Жыл бұрын
There are lighter axes for sure. I want a little weight though. Weight = more energy transfer

@@armeddefender sure but is it okay to use it with one hand?
