That was extremely interesting although based more on the imaginary than the real threat coming from Russia at any time of it's history. In order to survive, any permanent war economy needs an enemy, real or imagined so the US had to portray communist Russia as expansionist when in fact it was not, it was all a big lie motivated by the insane amout of monetary gain that capitalism allows when left unregulated as it has been for quite a while now. As soon as the USSR fell the new enemy became international terrorism, a ficticious concept that was created in 1979 at the Jerusalem Conference on International Terrorism (JCIT) organized by Benjamin Netanyahu and attended by GHW Bush and many other leaders of the western world. You forget that Russia conquered Eastern Europe and broke their promise to let Eastern Europe decide whether to become communist or not then proceeded to aid communist rebels across the globe and subjugating millions and denying personal freedom and sending people to camps. At its borders the guards faced inwards keeping people stuck inside. The communist soviets were awful and their defeat freed millions
