Well it turns out now the Moskva wasn't sunk, not surprising these types of stories seem to change every 8 hours with the nature of the information and propaganda war. Still it does sound like it was damaged, evacuated and is being towed. The Neptune missile seems like a pretty modern and impressive system.

@@-Zevin- Yeah, seems that way. I mean as far as I know the missiles are based on an older soviet design, though they seem to be quite capable. Very surprised by their performance.

@@oldstyle7760 Actually the old Soviet missiles were extremely sophisticated for the day. The Soviets spent allot of time and effort on anti-ship missiles because they understood the superiority of the American surface fleets, they weren't going to be able to win a conventional surface engagement or carrier engagement with the US, so mass saturation of long range anti ship missiles was their strategy, and it was pretty smart. The Soviets never had parity to the US navy during the cold war, but they definitely could have punched above their weight considering how small their navy actually was. Taking into account how good even the old soviet missiles are, it's not too surprising how great the upgraded Ukrainian ones are, which seem to have much better electronics and even longer range, over 60 miles.

He didnt sink the same ship. The ship in the game is the Moskva-class aircraft cruiser. The ship "Moskva" was active until 1996. The Slava-Class missile cruiser was then renamed after her for whatever reason. My guess is that after the fall of the Soviet Union the Russians didnt want to honor slavic people anymore? So yeah, while its the same name, those are two different ships. 🙂

Well done wolfpack, you just sunk the pride of the Soviet Fleet and will undoubtedly demoralize the enemy and surely will bring victory to NATO! For all of you that say this is the Moskva, it is a different Moskva (This is the Moskva Class Helicarrier and it's the ship class, the one that was badly damaged is named Moskva Cruiser but it is actually a Slava Class Cruiser. So don't confuse both of them). I am also glad to hear that you will feature Sea Power in this channel because that is one of the games that I anticipated releasing this year. Once again, really well done on your videos as always!

The Moskva class was a Soviet helicopter carrier, primary role was ASW warfare. Not to be confused with the Slava-class cruiser "Moskva".

There seems to be an awful lot of "mysterious ammunition explosions" going around lately... As a reminder from last episode, about Harpoon missiles. The angled-down arrow is NOT skim-the-surface mode. They do that automatically, no need to select. The angled-down arrow is a pop-up attack, used to get up and over chaff and to present a more difficult target to CWIS. If you want to take out a warship with harpoons, you need to overwhelm their defenses with a rapid, alternating mix of pop-up attacks and straight-in attacks.

It's extremely good your offsetting your torpedoes from yourself before sending them after targets. But a tip here is always aim torpedoes at your intended target first when you shoot just in case the wire breaks. This way even if the wire breaks the torpedo is still heading for a target even if it is going to draw fire back on you and if it doesn't lose the wire you can still offset it before setting it on a target.

Speaking of the Moskva (not the Moskva in the video, the Slava class cruiser) that has actually been confirmed as sunk by the Russian government. They say that it was damaged by a fire onboard and was taken under tow, eventually sinking in stormy seas. It's interetsing to me, because it sounds more insulting to the quality of the Russian Navy than the alternative, which is that it was sunk by missiles. They basically said that the loss of the Moskva was due to incompetence. Kyiv says that it was sunk by missiles, but it's not known how many. Obviously, Moskva was sunk by Ukrainian missiles, not incompetence. This is a big deal; it's the largest combatant ship to be sunk in combat since WWII.

Uhh, I’m pretty sure the Victor III was dodging friendly torpedoes, and so it went flank to dodge them… the surface ships dropped their torpedoes where they thought yours came from, and that was where the Victor was, LOL… second time I’ve seen a enemy sub sank by its own surface ships on your channel now, haha.
