If I get import taxed it will go from Coldcard Q to Coldcard QQ 😢 lol - I read somewhere it’s hit and miss as it looks like a calculator but yeah we shall find out.

excellent tutorial mate! Thank you! I assume the firmware upgrade process is precisely how you demonstrated for the MK4? ... via sparrow with those 3 files from the coinkite website?
@geedee3817Ай бұрын
I want to be super diligent, so I intend to do the firmware upgrade as a first step, then generate the seed phrase, next delete and re-import the seed phrase to make sure that works. Then connect to sparrow as you show in this video. makes sense? (I just got my CCQ today :) So all is still new to me.

@geedee3817 Yes, it’s always a good practice to delete and restore your seed before sending in large amounts of BTC. Make sure your seed is correctly written down, in numerical order & spelt correctly & stored safely 🔒 Verifying the latest firmware updates is key💯 www.coldcard.com/docs/upgrade/

Yes same practice as with the Mk4. Always good to verify the updates & Sparrow has a great tool for that🔥

In a multi-sig setup, how would you scan the QR code if your cold wallets are in two different places (i.e. not at the computer where your QR code is showing), the first one you could sign (assuming your cold wallet is near your computer to sign it), but what about the other?
@PioneeringFreedom10 күн бұрын
That’s one of the points of multisig, assuming only you are self custodian, u need to go get the other cold wallet device (2 of 3) in order to activate the transaction.
@Leeds1919LUFC10 күн бұрын
@ yeah I understand the point of it. Maybe my question was worded terribly: 1 Coldcard Q is in Australia, with your laptop. You sign the transaction by scanning the QR code. You need to sign with your 2nd Coldcard Q. Problem: your Coldcard Q is in the United States. How would you scan the same QR code with your Q? Would you take your laptop to the US? Would you just email the QR code to yourself and open the screenshot in the US leaving your laptop in Australia? These tutorials never really delve into when your cold wallets are in separate locations (for tutorial reasons I understand why) so I just ponder what you would do in that situation
@PioneeringFreedom10 күн бұрын
@Leeds1919LUFC you could save the PSBT as QR or as a file to the sdCard, then securely send that to yourself to access in the other country where the 2nd signing device is. The key here is to remember why you separated the devices originally. It’s a tough one.
@Leeds1919LUFC9 күн бұрын
@@PioneeringFreedom Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was safe to send a PSBT, but I guess it's just a file with transaction information on it, only becomes 'valuable' once the signatures are on it.

I would still encrypt it if possible. I hope it works out 💯
