I have been using aus 10 voyagers for a bit now, and in all honestly, I have zero issues with it. I think most people who have issue with it are steel snobs who are assuming it's just a little better than AUS 8, and won't be happy with anything less than s90 anyway, and I KNOW that most of the people that take issue with it haven't actually used it. I have found it to be very similar to 154cm performance-wise, which ironically, even to most egregious steel snobs usually have no issue with as far as budget steels go.

I have heard from some that Cold Steel does AUS10 very well, and I have been happy with my 4MAX Scout in that steel.

I have an aus10 Spartan. I have never been disappointed with its edge retention. Most people that complain about knife steel are collectors and not users.

The tanto version has been my most anticipated knife for this year and in fact I have the Lite Tanto in the mail on its way. I’m really happy to hear that the grivory handles and the fit/finish of the Lite is quality.

I have an AD10 regular version its one of my favorite knives. Not even too heavy to daily carry. I got mine on sale for $110.

I agree with your recommendation assessment(s), especially since the newer AD10's are flat ground anyway. And I also agree with you based on my experience with the AD-15 v AD-15 lite - the grivory versus G10 difference in hand was largely negligible, and certainly bears serious value consideration. Excellent first look - I was waiting for your opinion on these new boys based on your prior thoughts on the AD-10. Thanks!

Totally agree companies don't use hollow grinds enough.

Air Lite tanto hollow grind is coming.

I just bought a couple of them for 39.99 at Midway right now!

Glad I waited a bit before jumping on this one. Got the tanto version a few days ago for 39 bucks at Midway. And guess what...it is a hollow grind again. Of course the tanto tip is flat ground.

Yeah I got the same deal just arrived yesterday from Midway

AD10 is one of most comfortable in hand. Like a small fixed blade. Yes more hollow grinds please. Unless they using thin blade stock with tall flat grind like most Spydercos.

I love my ad10. Got a screaming deal on it and it became one of my favorites. It half makes me want to sell my ad15, I literally never carry it now.
@saifaldin_2 жыл бұрын
The blade on the S35VN version looks better. Mostly due to the contrasting polishing direction (horizontal on the grind, vertical elsewhere) which makes it catch the light nicer. Having said that, I still went for the lite version because of the price to usage ratio. Personally, i prefer hollow grind for thicker blades, but this knife is quite tall, and that higher grind helps a bit somewhat.

I like mine and got it with the tanto blade. I also own a regular AD-10.

Definitely prefer a Saber Grind to a full flat grind or a hollow grind. Of these three I choose the drop point lite. However, the 4-MAX Scout beats these all.

Got me the LITE Tanto coming from WMK.....can't wait to get it in hand. I have the std ad10 in s35vn and LOVE it in hand. Can't wait to try the tanto with the ad10 ergos. I have the code 4 tanto and love that as well for edc. I think it might be a lil less comfortable for harder use stuff tho with it thin aluminum scales. I think having the rounded, chamfered scales of the ad10 will just excel in the harder use stuff. Can't wait!! Love the content brother...keep em coming....your fellow blade bro down in Arkansas...God Bless, HT

How has the Tanto ad10 performed since you've had it? Looking at getting one myself.

@@TaskerStreete superbly.....the steel is a pleasure to sharpen and does admirable on its edge holding. Ergos are beyond comfortable! Buy with confidence.....HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Got my Ad 10 lite with drop point , didn't care for tanto. Love the weight and use the steel in my 4 max scout. Which I use as my edc, do mostly bush work. Never had any issues with any of my 6 cold steels
@CKshouta2 жыл бұрын
they should do AD10 in caldie. Cheaper than AUS10 and easier to grind however it gets ridiculous toughness and hardness.

Question...Did Blades of Canada ever do Recon 1’s with the Satin hollow ground XHP blade? While I’m dreaming... I’m still waiting for a version of the Broken Skull with a satin hollow ground blade and/or the same construction as the Code 4...would have bought one in every color but pink...lol
@brandon87ize2 жыл бұрын
I have 2 of the original hollow ground version and I don’t care what anyone says, you will be hard pressed to find a better hard use production knife made period!!

What do you think of the sr1 lite? They're only like $35 bucks. Seems like an even better value than the ad10 lite
@LXT43 Жыл бұрын
it's not a better value. it's just less expensive product because of materials used.

I have one and the OG SR1 and they are both fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate to grave the lite any day.

Like CS products and I see you are looking at several. In the event you take requests, how about the Spartan serrated model. I have the original, but apparently the new one has different steel and grip material.

Hard to tell from the video, does that tanto edge have a bit of a recurve? It seems really well done but recurves are always a pain for me to sharpen.
@lymedog3176 Жыл бұрын
It’s not s35vn, because in the big picture… it’s better… almost as good edge retention, almost as good corrosion resistance, but it’s stronger and more durable. S35vn, like s30 , elmax, m390 or creware is more brittle than Aus10a. On top of that Aus10a is 1/2 the price of s35vn steel!
@brianf9619 Жыл бұрын
Amazon has the AD10 Tanto in S35VN for $107.00 Right Now and the Lite for $77.00 as of 9/16/23 , gotta look out for my Canadian Brothers ..... 👍🖖

Lol how did the people that founded this country even do it without the super steels!!! People are paying way to much for steel that actually doesn’t make a damn difference in what they use a knife for!
