Good review, love the honesty. That said, I just picked up the Lite Version for 39.99 on Midway and couldn't pass it up.

I have both knives. I tend to carry the lite version for work because I am very hard on it and it takes a beating. I carry the s35vn when I have something casual. I like the plastic scales because I feel like they grip very well. The Aus 10 is very durable and easy to sharpen. I got the lite for 55 dollars on eBay new and the regular for 90 on amazon. Both are great. Just depends on what you want to pay

I'm with you on all these new knives coming out from name brands with plastic. I don't like or understand it. That Lite might be in the running for some custom scales! I'd love to have either to be honest though.

I got my first (premium) AD-10 about 4 months ago at a Midway USA sale and it was the new tanto version. Man, definitely NOT disappointed with the knife! It turned into the perfect EDC for me! And I'm talkin' preferred over my recon 1's, LG & XL Voyagers and so on! It truly is a great knife! Great video here too btw...

I just ordered the Lite version, AUS 10 is a very good steel so I don't mind the extra vanadium in S35 VN. The plastic reinforced scales are great I like the feeling of them, hopefully it's the same material as the Spartan, very hard and sturdy, feels as strong as G10 honestly. I've got many other knives in G10, I will not miss it 😂

Just bought the LITE from Midway USA for 39.99 (Tanto blade), with tax and shipping $49.78. For that price I don't have a problem with the handle being Glass Reinforced Nylon (GRN).

Thanks for the video 👍🏻 I am thinking to buy the AD 10. For me the plastic scales is ok. I like the Grivex feeling on my 4Max Scout. I also own the 4Max Italian made and I don't see a very big difference in comfort. I just seen that they now have an AD 10 Special edition in 3V😃 I will see 😅

Brother, I totally agree with you on the Griv-Ex vs G-10. I don't like "Plastic" Scales either. I like my Standard G-10 AD10's much better. The same goes for my SR1 Tantos, too... The 4-Max Scout has nicer feeling Grivory Scales than the other two. And, the price difference is massive. So, for that one (Note: I own them all), I absolutely luv. And, it's the only one I use, when it comes to the 4-Max Scout. But, even in that case, if they offered it with G-10 or Micarta, at a reasonable price, I would definately want one of those... And, personally, to me, the Japanese AUS-10A works just fine... I totally agree with you, Bro. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

The AD10 Tanto, is the best folding Tanto that Cold Steel makes, and arguably the best production, folding Tanto.

CS AD-10 Tanto is what I'm carrying everytime I go to California since my other knife such as CS Voyager XL Tanto Serrated is illegal in that State due to it's Blade Length Restrictions and I can't bring and conceal carry my 5 Max as well, so AD-10 Tanto fits the gap even though the blade length is only 3.5inch it's definitely legal in California and still good enough for Self Defense.

California doesn't have a blade length restriction. Some counties like LA does (3 inch) but California doesn't.

Please please can you tell me with 100% certainty if the original g10 tanto version of the AD10 in this comparison review you did if it has got the same hollow grind because nobody's saying if it has their only saying that the lite version has a hollow grind please can you clarify? Yes the blades are the same, the only thing that’s seems different is the handle scales and maybe slightly thinner liners.that’s why there’s so little difference in the weight.

If you don't like plastic handles so much why did you buy the lite version? Didn't you read the specs before buying it...? Personally to me it doesn't really matter much, and the lite often goes on sale for $59

The reason I ask is because cold steel stopped doing the hollow grind and put flat grinds on quite a few of their knives including the ad10. Then recently they brought out a hollow grind supposedly only on the lite Tanto version? and only on the Tanto lite version so what I am asking is have they put the hollow grind on the ad10 tanto with s35vn? Please can you tell me definitively I am in the UK so I can't contact cold Steel so easily here. Have a good day with kind regards Dave

Yes the AD10 Tanto in S35VN does have a Great Hollow Grind and Amazon here in the US has it on Sale for $107.00 right now 9/23/23 , I'm not sure if You have the same Amazon or not though ..... 👍🖖

G10 also feels like plastic. It's cold, hard and lifeless. With that said, I'd still go with AD10 Lite just because it's lighter and costs less.
