@@planetsceness com 16 anos ele destruiu a seletiva do ADCC no NA, fez uma luta com Fabrício com resultado extremamente questionável e já ganhou de diversos faixas pretas renomados ainda na azul. Talvez na preta ele ainda não tenha desempenhado tão bem, mas está a anos luz na frente do Sandrey.

This may be a silly question but at 5:18 Cole opens his guard a couple of times and Silva chooses to stay on his knees and doesn't stand up to begin passing. Is there any particular reason why? Is it better to accept the closed guard in this situation?

He most likely didn't want to give cole the chance to get under him for the X guard position again. Every time Silva stood Cole was transitioning to X guard and K guard to off balance and sweep. Also Silva was probably tired and cole wasn't being as aggressive in the closed guard as he was with the other guards.

I’m sure he was worried about Cole entering his legs, which is ultimately what happened

Im pretty sure it was his grips. Before he could even think of getting up he needs to break Cole’s grips.
