Great review! Though I would've liked to hear a change in chords as you showed the mic variations, as open chords and bar chords would need to be heard alongside each other. I'm looking at purchasing the Aud Blackwood soon.

The neck is Queensland maple (a maple in name only), the body is Australian Blackwood (sort of a koa).

So I have 2 Cole Clarks - Redwood Tops with Blackwood sides and backs. One is a Fat Lady 2 and a Little lady both with 3 way pick ups. My verdict. The FL2 sounds horrible unplugged. It sounds ok plugged in. The FL2 dings very easily i.e. the wood is very soft. Cost was $1700 US. The Little Lady sounds good unplugged and plugged. Seems to be holding up to playing (no dings yet). Cost was US$780. These guitars aren't cheap. They look great, seem to be well made.... but..... and big but..... you have to play these first. There is so much variation with each guitar. Great pick up...yes... terrible unplugged sound..... overall.... I wouldn't buy FL again and would not recommend these. Little lady is great.... but....Stick with Martins!

I paid a fortune for a Martin D28 and the binding came apart after a couple of months...stick to Cole Clark, they are better built and have the best pick ups in the world and you are not just paying for a brand name.

I stand by the comments..... but what you may have missed is...."The Little Lady sounds good unplugged and plugged. Seems to be holding up to playing (no dings yet). Cost was US$780. Little lady is great" . These Cole Clark guitars are designed to be plugged in... I record several times a year.... wouldn't use CC for recording as I record direct through a mic, not the guitar pick up....although I have heard some good KZbin recordings of CC. Live playing CC = Good. In summary CC recording= no good, Live = Good, Longevity (build) = not sure but doubt it. Martin recording= great, live = Good, Longevity= Good. CC as a company have responded really quickly to emails and seem very diligent :) Resale value - not good

Beautiful guitar, but reasonably priced? Really? 3-5000 USD$? Who drops that kind of cash on an acoustic? If mine was that expensive i'd probably put it in a museum, not in a gig bag.

U do know that other instruments such as a violin can go for $30,000 , and that's not even as expensive as the ones they use for concerts either

I mean solid wood guitars kinda start in the $1000 region at a minimum. High end basically means handcrafted luthier quality, which if you bought a greenfield or something, it would run you like 20 grand+

This particular one is about $2000-2400 USD. I got one for $2200. Most range from 1600-3000 in the USA.
