Lost my Dad 5 years ago. Did a reaction to this one myself on my channel. The interesting thing about this one is that when he went to the cemetery that was the first time he actually saw his father's gravestone, as the last time he was there was for the funeral. So that emotion and breakdown was genuine. I can't believe he had the strength to actually film there and get through that. Amazing.

Love Cole, have seen him in concert. Puts on an amazing show. Real sad story, his father passed away a few months after that phone call in the beginning of the video. He was working on a truck and it fell off the lift and killed him.

As the hospital piped into the waiting room the happy news of my grandson's birth, this was the song on the radio at that very moment! My grandson shares my dad's name. God, I wish my dad could have been there!

This song gets me every time. Lost my father March 26th will be 6 years. I really wish at times he could be here to see the things my grandson is doing that doctors said he never would. He told us to never give up on Charlie bc God has the last word. "Ain't Worth the Whiskey", "Some Habits" & "Middle of a Memory " are a few of his songs. "Ain't Worth the Whiskey " is probably my favorite of the three.

I love this song but it gets me every time. This was released about 2 months before my best friend and soul mate died. I can't hear this song without thinking of him. Cole has an awesome voice and you can't go wrong with any of his songs in my opinion. Another one I really like is "The Ones Who Got Me Here".

This song hurts because just a month before I married my wife on the 4th of February 1989 my mum and brother died and I wish they could have been there because I loved them both.

Yes that's his dad's grave. The first part of the video was him calling his dad to tell him he had just signed his record deal. If I remember correctly his father passed not to long after this phone call. He never got to see Cole make it big. And the grave scene was one of Cole's first time visiting his dad's grave. Cole started out as Luke Bryan's merch guy. Luke helped him get his start by letting him sing on stage with him.

Tears every time. Yes, those are his brothers. They’re from Georgia and it’s pronounced Swin- del. Emphasis on the “del”. My husband met him at a work conference that Cole attended as a guest with his brother, and said they were the nicest guys. Glad you found him.

I grew up in that small town with his brothers, and the last name was pronounced exactly like he said... until Jay became a lawyer lol.

What a heartfelt song, loved it first time I heard it. Since you're on country music, I'd love for you to react to Alison Krauss' "Simple Love" or Alan Jackson's "Remember When". So many great country artists and music, its hard to just pick 1. Thank you for all of your reactions ❤

It's a very rough song to get through and it speaks highly to Cole Swindell's abilities as a song writer. The phone call in the opening is him sharing the news with his Dad about getting signed to Warner Records after years of grinding the country music scene and writing some hit songs for other major artists. He finally made it and then his father passed from an accident only a month later. His biggest fan and supporter and he didn't get to see Cole reap the rewards of all his hard work. Cole didn't get to share that with him. Those of us who have lost someone dear absolutely understand this moment. A perfect beautiful memory in the making and suddenly they'll pop in your head and you'd give almost anything if they could be there with you. For me it's my great grandmother, Nanny B. We weren't even blood related but she treated me with more love and care than I received from either of my two biological grandmothers. She'd call me her namesake because my middle name happened to be the same as her first, unique spelling and all. I miss making her coffee, I miss the sound of her voice, I miss how she smiled big and laughed hard.

You should react to Dads old number. It makes me think of my parents cause even though they are both gone I have times when I want to pick up my phone and call them but I remember it's not their number anymore. I sent you the link to dad's old number on facebook.

His story is great. He would sell T-shirts and merchandise for Luke Bryan. Luke saw his dedication and talent and mentored him. If you like deep songs like this check out Brooks and Dunn …..Believe

In the beginning of the song you hear Cole talking to his dad on the phone giving him the good news....6 weeks later Coles dad passed away due to the truck he was working on fell on top of him...those in the video is his real family down in Georgia...and the part of him at his dads grave site was really hard for him and him crying was real and those were his big brothers there with him so yeah this song had deep heartfelt meaning to him....it's a very touching song and video and makes me think of my dad too.....

@@PatrolNation there's a classic American Country song similar to this one whereas it pays homage to the father of the music artist and that song is : "That's My Job" by Conway Twitty. The song is currently being performed by his grandson Tre Twitty on a tribute tour to Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn called Twitty & Lynn A Salute to Conway and Loretta. The songs by Loretta Lynn on that tour are being performed by her granddaughter Tayla Lynn.
