My opinion seems to differ from A LOT of people... I remember during stormblood I had a bunch of materia lying around because I had not gotten thru the story yet and didnt understand materia systems yet. I ended up selling most all of it and that funded my first house (small) . When I upgraded to Med home That was all thru random mats from dysnth and retainers sold on Market board. Ive never been hard core money makers but funds have never been a problem. I think the most I spent was a few million when I got crafting and gathering gear when the last patch landed near the end of Shdbringer. And that stuff served me well over a year and into endwalker.

Yup, materia was crashing due to there being so much of it on the mb early this morning. Still at work right now, but I don't imagine much has changed since. Aether/Adamantoise

So glad i sold all my X-Materia yesterday for around 55-60k a piece...having a good chuckle over the marketboard atm, prices here on light dropped by over 50% to about 28-29k.

Combat Materia sells best at the start of the expac, then it nosedives off a cliff for the rest of the expac. Doubly so since they introduced eureka and bozja and (likely) will introduce something similar for EW.

Historically the materia will sell great, mainly at this point in the expansion. 6.2 and 6.4, people will have had a lot more time to collect their own clusters. THIS raid teir is going to be amazing before and after this upcoming expansion. And i suggest never buying materia - just hunt bro! i have 65k ventures, over 3k aetheryte tickets, have sold over 300 Grade X materia and have almost 300 clusters saved up waiting for after the patch. Hunting is the best. Anyway, also dont worry about the undercutting so much, since Materia is a very hot seller. Set it and forget it. I woke up the other day and had 8.8 mil in my retainers because i set my materia at the higher end of the sale history and just left it.

Funny thing is he was right, materia on elemental servers crashed hard. Materia X went from 50k each to 20k Its only slowly stabilising now at 40k Materia IX went from 30k to 10k But the direct hit one actually went upto 40k each. And the crafted gear market declined within hours on almost all servers from 1mil/item to 100-300k each

@@mikelda3rd Here on Bryn they went from 35-40k to 50-55k and are still holding at 50k right now. Selling of them has slowed down, im guessing its just the time of day, the sales have been amazing. I wiped out my entre materia stock made 57mil. time to start prepping for next patch!

I honestly can't figure out who's buying this stuff from me. Between the trains, random drops from expert, the bonus rewards from certain roulettes, and it just popping out of my gear constantly. It should just fall into your lap from regular gameplay.

I did save some materia, not much, but yeah, it didn't go as expected, I was expecting to see gathering materia going back to 80k+ but nope, it's like super low.

I put all the materia i get as drop from 90lvl dungeons in market biard some they sell for 55k gil and some for 10k depents of the stat but ithey sell instantly for some reason without much undercutting,but i pkay in light data center maybe its different here in europe.The crit and tenacity sell like crazy for some reason on 50k followed by determination at around 30k!

My hubby burned all his materia and I gave him all my materia to meld his 580 gear lol, so yeah people are buying it, the more people have max gear the less it will sell over time.

I actually try to avoid these unstable markets. I have found a few niches and rather make consistently gil and not putting up with this undercutting fight. I may not make Millions a day, but i make 700k per day and that adds up quickly too.

I just use my clusters... then i get tons of materia just doing the expert roulette anyway. The real money seem to be in making DPS pots, those aethersands really only comes from purple gatherer scrips, so they sure take a bit of effort to make in larger quantities. But a sure money maker is to just either: Hunt or do lvl 90 dungeons/expert roulette and convert those materias into DoH materia(DoL ain't worth it atm).

@@ColeEvyx Well you don't need melds... Just craft a HQ set and your pretty much set to go. At least untill 1-star mats... But when i looked them up I will still have a 100% gathering rate with a basic meld(ShB materia)... I just slotted in some more perception for some higher boon chance, but at the end of the day gathering stuff go so quick with boon chances, there's little to no point to raise it above the minimum for node activations. So people either just go for script gear which have no materia slots or just meld w/e materia they have in the lvl 90 craftables, both of which enables all the bonus effects and leave you at 100% gathering rate. Having 800 GP is also pretty handy and you end up past that with HQ gear with no GP melds. DoH jobs still do their pentamelds because they want to be ready for 1-star recipies, i still find it uneccesary to do that now, i rather just craft the new stuff by using HQ mats and focus on that set. But the DoH community are rich beyond measure so they can gladly send me their Gil in the mean time. I basicly just float around these days, picking up the collectables and turning them into DPS potions... not to mention foods pretty decent as a source of income. But then again i have no real use for Gil anymore, i never joined the buy to craft pyramid scheme, so i just earned Gil instead of spending it on crafting... Some people seriously buy their levelquest turn ins, so I just choose to craft those and sell instead of turning them in. Took a fair bit of time, but well... I'm all set for this expansion i think.

Hahahaha im glad i have never fall into this materia bshit i just save the good materia for my own gear and sell all the rest. No wonder i was selling my materia like pancakes. So farr i have noticed that thanks to videos here on youtube most players go and try and sell and buy all the same stuff making that item crash. How i make money is making and crafting what ppl ignore. Pi3ces of equipment lvl 80 that nobody makes anymore and u can basically sell for more than 100k a piece or 50k in case of rings. And i make bank lmaooo 🤣 only thing is that u gotta be constantly checking marketboard looking for this gems. And i never make more than 3 peices of the item. I replace as i sell em if i see some ppl fight that market i move to another one let em fight and save my item for later when they sell their shit so cheap that i can buy it sometimes and is cheaper than making it . Then i resell when the market is good again. This kinf of videos are good let me know were the mob is at so i can avoid it.
