Coleman Party Grill - Unboxing & First Use

Does anyone of you that got this grill and used it, noticed that the propane bottle leaks after unscrewing it? The first time I used it I dumped my propane bottle cus it was hissing and was only very little left. Today I used it and the same thing happened again. I’m not sure if it’s because my bottle is old, or the brand of propane, or the grill itself. I want to see if this occurance is common on this grill.

Have you tried using some Teflon tape? That might fix the issue, no problems with mine so far 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@misa19961 its fine when its screwed in the grill. its when i take off the canister from the grill that it hisses. so now i just leave the canister on which im not too comfortable doing.

Spray a little bit of WD-40 or a couple drops of oil in the top of the bottle, condensation/rust causes them to stick.

These are at Ollie's Bargain Outlet for $30 right now. I'm. Contemplating whether or not to try it. $10 seems like a much easier choice.

$30 😱. I’d probably get 2 at that price but at $10 will maybe 5. I can’t find it here in Hawaii anymore. I’m glad I got 1 at least.

@@Felgood808 thanks for the heads up! I found a 20 percent off coupon but used it on a mini pressure cooker instead before I saw this reply! I think my wife might have another coupon that I can use on one of these grills!

Can you put a cast iron on top and cook that way?

good question. i havent tried yet but i think it might be difficult being that the grill is concave and not flat. but might work if I take off the grill.

Can you just recap the propane tank and put it somewhere and reuse it again later for the grill?

yes you can. i do it all the time but make sure it is not leaking and stored in a well ventilated, cool, dry place. it comes with a non-screwing cap and i make sure to not lose it.
