This is close to being the most comprehensive review I've seen not just on a cooler but on any product. Well done.

I've bought colemans, igllos, rubbermaid, etc, and none of them held ice for more than 2 days. Instead of buying "cheap" coolers for $60-75-, I finally broke down and got a Pelican 95qt for $275. Ice near me is $5 a bag, so $20- a week for ice adds up quick. I use mine for my work van for food and beverages, and travel a lot so can't make juice bottle ice at home. I can get 8-10 days with the Pelican. Totally worth it!

I've been thinking pretty hard about buying pelican, yeti, grizzly, or orca. Is there a model number on your pelican? I'll note your advice for when I get a new cooler next spring, and I appreciate it! Thanks!

I just bought the older version of the Ultimate 6 not the wheeled cooler. The ones without the wheels tends to be a better product. It's called the Ulitmate in all of Canada. So it's the 6 day green cooler and a lot rave about them here.

I've just finished ice tests lasted 6 days frozen bottles of water. I made a small modification. Just tinfoil wrapped cardboard put it on the ledges 1 2liter and 2 710 ml bottles frozen of water. On the fourth day.

Another Very informative and handy review. Let me know if you get a top end one. I would love to see reviews on them.

I appreciate the time you took to watch it! I've considered high end coolers for maybe the last 4 years. This cooler puts me a little closer to just caving in and spending the money. For what I spent on coolers the last 3 years, plus what I'll have to spend just to replace this one in the video, I could own a Pelican 45QW or a Yeti Tundra 45.

+Essential Gear & Useful Skills I know. I would say, it is time. You have 7 months to deside on what one you want.

check out the RTIC coolers if you dont want to spend on the Yeti...myself have the Xtreme 5 as well as the Yeti 65......simply no comparison side by side in durability or ice retention. Also no worry in sitting on an RTIC or a Yeti you and your 250 buddy can stand on them and jump up and down with no worries!

I think the RTIC 45 is probably going to be my next cooler purchase. I had forgotten about them. There are a lot of that style of coolers on the market these days, and since I never see RTIC in stores (because they don't sell them in stores), I forgot all about them.

I am drinking out of a RTIC cup with an RTIC handle as I write this. I KNOW that RTIC has quality products so I wholeheartedly agree with that decision.

thanks for the vid. someone told me this line of coleman coolers was as good as yeti/rtic etc but for way cheaper. im probably just gonna cave and get an rtic.

I had sort of forgotten about RTIC. I only heard of them a year or two ago when I read Yeti was suing them over something... and since they don't sell in retail stores, I completely forgot about them after that. Thanks for reminding me! Their 45 or 65 qt cooler might be just the ticket. Thanks!

Artic is my favorite. They like a yeti but each on is cheaper and just a little bigger then yeti.

Great Review it is $80 of one time use and then thrown away .

That's really close to completely true. Most folks don't have the know-how or resources to modify it (lid strap, rope handles, mold a silicone seal, replace the hinges etc), and even those who do have the means to make modifications might not have the desire or motivation to do it. I really consider this one a waste of money. ... Thanks for taking the time to watch! I appreciate it.

Wow...you really exposed this product as being very mediocre! Whoever designed this product should be fired, and they should reach out to you, and offer you a job as a designer, and tester. I wonder if Coleman will contact you, as in the past I have heard that this happens on occasion? Thanks for taking the time to produce the video.

You have a lot of confidence in me ;) I can say that other than beefing up the lid to accommodate people who sit down on their cooler, they must not have considered how people use devices like this very much. The drain being on the wrong side tells me they really don't know their customers very well... and 12 oz cans not fitting end to end tells me they rushed to get this to market.

Yeti suck. If you've watched other KZbin videos on cooler vs cooler. The Colman beats the Yeti. Since you were using it. That would most likely be the reason it didn't last. Witch should be expected really. I'd take a Colman over a peace of crap Yeti any day. Buy cabelas if your looking at a Yeti. It's much better.

I ended up with a couple of Rtic's. I bought a 45qt a few months after I did this video and then I added a 65qt after I saw the work Rtic did for their community during/after hurricane Harvey. I need to make a wheel kit for the 65, though. It's pretty darn heavy even empty, and a back breaker when packed. If it weren't for my giant of a son being willing to load it in the truck, I'd probably never take it anywhere ;)
