Bro your vids have helped me so much in the past two years! Fuckin love you man! The day I learned how to scat from you using "buh duh buh duh" was the turning point for me.i use to always focus too hard on what I wanted to say but once I learned how to scat I was able to get the sound I wanted and then worry about the words later, and after scatting oftentimes the words would come to me easier and fit nicely! I appreciate everything you've done man! Stay blessed 💓!

Hooks are something I struggle with. I've had a few songs where the hook just came to me naturally, and others I had to struggle. My last song I just hummed through the hook part, but it fit the vibe of the song. I chose not to use a hook. Some songs I've cheated and used beats with hooks already in them lol

me too, it's not cheating, it is what it is.

Hi cole, i was always frightened to write hooks are they seemed to specific, and always planned to make it last before giving up on it and just keepeing the verses i write. This video is very very on point i will always try to start from the hook from now on.

You're certainly not alone. I got really skilled as a rapper before I got skilled at writing hooks. Most rappers I have worked with are like that. We just tend to focus on writing lyrics for verses first before thinking about melodies and hooks etc.. There's nothing wrong with taking ideas from other songs and tweaking them. Keep up the hard work and I'm wishing you the best with your future hooks. You got this! ✌😎 - Cole Mize

Great video as Always. Could you do a video or videos on Wordplay, Metaphors, Punchlines etc . I can construct Wordplay but its whack for example. "Ate ( Eight)four more than it's twelve " "Everything about the single life is good accept (Except) Loneliness " I try not to bore people so i rap diverse and avoid drills. Like i have no creativity.
@madisonk23973 жыл бұрын
I know this is an old comment but just wanted to say, what helps me with this is simply choosing one simple topic (something really simple, a noun like colors, money, shoes, whatever) and rhyming as much as I possibly can about that one thing. I do this an an exercise to loosen my brain up but this also often leads to a decent song in itself. You’ll be surprised how far you can take it, when the subject is simple you can come up with like 20000 different ways to represent it in rhyme
