Biggie smalls actually got his flow from scatting , since he was a kid he was taught by a jazz artist to scat to play jazz and than used it to create his rap flow

Bro, I just started scatting a few weeks ago after watching ur other vids. Was gettin frustrated w/ myself for not being able to just let go. The two simple sounds, and the breakdown in this is exactly what I needed to hear! Thanks bro, serious respect💯

This is helpful . Thank you cole , all of the tips were helpful . It’s really a curse to have an super analytical mind, i suffer from this. I’ll try to think of cadence as more feeling then thinking , thanks for clearing that up. It’s just techniques you can use 🔥💪🏾

Quality lesson, all I do is scat live now and new bars come out non stop, I've stopped writing ages ago. My favourite rip ignore the cadence chart, this threw me in the start, couldn't get my head round it 🤣

Really like the idea of how its easier to remember the cadence, rather than the lyrics. Question: how do we add lyrics to the cadence/scatting afterwards while still being on topic?
@alantate253 жыл бұрын
Easy, you just fill in the scats with words

Is scatting helpful with finding the pocket - assuming it should be - what are some pointers - should my rhymes or inflections hit on the 2 &4 always? Or maybe just to start out until I'm solid?

Didn't know but I be scatting all the time... It just felt right I'm bad at other guys lyrics so in order to get a feel for it this rap cadence or scheme that I want to do I put a little finesse with it with Badoo the bada...for years I've been doing that. It just feels right

What was the most helpful for me is that. I always viewed scatting as something tough. Like i should be able to make different types of scatt sounds. But i didnt know i could make the most out of just 2 sounds. Example, Muh - Nuh
@disasterbrain1893 жыл бұрын
I was the same ..but I overcome that by translating cole maize scat (different sounds) into lyrics and I scatted the same cadence on my way (only da and buh duh) and translated it also I literally found no difference and yeah scatting is so powerful weapon u could add to your arsenal ppl I wrote this comment. without even watching the vid 😂🔥
@veyl4n3 жыл бұрын
@@disasterbrain189 but i was wondering somethings. If i were to scat a whole cadence so i record it and re listen to it to try fit words in or do i just scat a few bars then write to it without recording?

Cole ..how could I guess the original tempo of the track if rapper is rapping in double time or half time ... for ex ...if original tempo is 80 and Rapper is rapping fast at 160 or vice versa ... original tempo is 160 and Rapper is rapping slow on 80 bpm ..so which things would be different that will help me to tell that this is the original tempo?

absolutely it's a feeling thing could you explain this to me if I say each 8th note of the beat with the mouth, it sounds like a machine but if someone has a good rhythm sense it sounds musical even though he's speaking the same rhythm as me and even if the timing is the same so that feeling thing which makes it musical which I have my doubts is it learnable but I don't understand how the metronome doesn't help it just a click like a Machine I'm not saying I don't have rhythm sense I can clap on the beat i understand music theory song structure mixing mastering beats arrangement producing phase I can feel the music but when I have to bring something inside of me it lacks musicality where the whole purpose is to bring rhythm from inside could you help me that like your cadence series i try to mimic your cadence based on the bar sheet before listening to your cadence and then I compare it with yours you have something I call feel in it mine was like I'm just saying those notes on the bar sheet to mechnicall like ta ta ta ta but it doest have feel but yours have that feel all those 8th notes there's something underneath it when you say it i don't know how that thing is learnable

Is it considered poor artistry to just straight up copy a cadence?

hey cole ....that is there a highest syllable count in one beat ...I mean like as per 32 notes ...that highest amount could be 8 syllable in one beat?

I think you can get 64th notes in there. More feasible the slower the tempo
