Dude this song kills me! It makes me remember those I have lost. But seeing you break down for real just tears me up man. I pray that God will comfort you and your family through this tremendous loss. Nothing can bring your dad back, we know that. But I hope this experience helps you through the pain. Thanks so much for putting your heart out there like this brother. God bless you and yours Cole! See you when you come to Knoxville next!!!

This song means a lot to my brother and sisters because we lost our dad last year on Dec. 17, 2015 and when he passed as my brother got off the plane and into the car your song came on. I already loved the song but this past June we were all together fulfilling our father's wish to bury his ashes in the water because he was a waterman. Everytime the song comes on it takes me back to the day on the boat sharing stories about dad with my mom, aunt and siblings and just us as adults and all the good times we had as a family and by ourselves. He was mine and my sisters step-dad but we never called him that we called him dad. So thank you for sharing your story about your dad and know that it affects my family in a good way and helps to cry when we need to. You are a phenominal artist keep making music it's healing. Thank you Cole for this video. You have been very helpful to me with this video. I lost my Dad 01/01/14. And I believe that was the most tragic thing in my life, so I know EXACTLY what you felt during/after this video. Can't wait till 02/20/16 when you are here in Jackson, TN and if the Lord's willing, I get to hear this song in person. I am a 41 year old father of 4 beautiful kids, but this song brings out all the feelings I try to keep balled up inside me. God Bless You! And thanks again!

Cole my daddy was my best friend. He died accidentally on September 5, 2010. He loved his family. This song means so much to my family. His first grandson was born just five weeks before he died and now he has another grandson he should be here to see. Thank you for putting our feelings into words and song. God Bless You. Gena

Cole, I have heard alot of songs say the words that have been in my heart everyday for the past 6 1/2 yrs since my mother and my father-in-law both passed away, but this song says it all. There is never a day that goes by that I don't tell either of them that They should be here. Since they passed, I've graduated with Honors from 2 different colleges, my daughter graduated from High School and even got married. She even made her father and me Grandparents for the first time. And after 19 long yrs, I finally married my daughter's dad. I just can't tell you how much your song has touched my heart. Thank you. It's a beautiful tribute to your dad. I know he is in Heaven smiling down on you with such Pride. He will always be with you in your heart, in your soul, and in your music.

This song and video is therapeutic & will help so many others realize that they are not alone in their grief. Thank you to Cole & all of his family for being so open with their lives. Do we ever come to terms with the loss of a loved one...especially when it was unexpected? I think not, but with time...lots of time...we learn how to cope with it. The memories & tangibles help to keep their spirit alive! And Cole's Dad painted a lovely guitar! #YOUSHOULDBEHERE

It's good to see a family who with the same strength of character had the ability to let you go into an industry that in some cases outcomes bury a career. In my experience walking away repeatedly proved the easier choice. Much respect for the honesty throughout lyrics and presentation. NLDHP

reading these comments and seeing how the words of your song touch the very soul of these people that have shared the feelings of loss, I lost my Dad in 2013, I spoke to him on the phone every day for over 20 years, and that first day that I couldn't make that call was so brutal. Thanks for sharing this song with the world

Every time I hear this song and see you preform it my heart breaks for you. I couldn't imagine what you went through and how much you miss your father. You seem like such a genuine person and country music is 1000x's better with your raw emotions and feelings. God Bless you and your family for helping others through heartache! This song always makes me think of my grandparents that I lost when I was 14 in a car accident Dec 20, 1999. I forever thought I would have been a better person if they would have been around longer.

WOW! Powerful Video! The first time I heard it I thought you were talking about a girlfriend but when I watched the video, I immediately started weeping. I lost my dad unexpectedly on 1-1-15. He was my best friend. I became so close to him the past 4 years after my brother passed on 1-12-11. I miss them both sooooo much. This song puts into words and music the pain I feel thinking about how they "Should be here" Thank You for the song.

Cole to hear you actually talk about the song like that, it breaks my heart but helps me to. I know I have already said this before but I lost my momma suddenly, I went into her home and found her past away, it was in 2015. I never got to say goodbye, I love you or anything. My heart breaks all the time, She was my momma, my best friend and I lost my dad at the age of 3 and so she was my dad to. My life has not been the same, my heart has not yet been healed fro her loss. Once again I can’t say enough about Cole Swindell’s music.

While I have never had to go through a tragedy like this yet the music video still moves me non the less. I think this is going to be the song that everyone remembers Cole Swindell for. For Luke Bryan it might be "Country Girl", "Play it again", or "That's my Kind of Night". For Eric Church it's probably "Springsteen". It used to be "Chillin' It" in my eyes for Swindell but this song puts that one to shame. It's deep, meaningful, relatable for a lot of people... This song deserves to be "Song of the Year" whenever the next country award show rolls around.

Every time i hear this somg, it makes me think of my papa, and all the times we would cruise down main street in glennville in an old dodge. Or go fishing in the altamaha. My grandaddy knew your father, and although my papa died back in 2012, i was sure sad to hear about your dad's passing. I just want you to know that all of glennville is behind ya, buddy. your making history. Thanks for making the world a little bit of a better place.

Great job by the producers with this video and Cole man I gotta tell you that this song hits me hard... I have lost a lot of family over the years and there's plenty that I wish that were here.... and the thing is that you put something out that captures my heart and the way I feel about my feeling and that you and your family did for the video... you didn't have to show the emotion and your family story.. it could have just been a song but the fact that its true and your actions are real just really makes it hit harder!

My dad passed suddenly from a heart attack when i was 20. It happened on a day we were both working on my 68 camaro together and I wanted to leave to go see my girlfriend (now wife). A few hours later we got a call from the shop owner that my dad was on the floor of the shop not breathing. He was my best friend. I'll always regret leaving him that day. But I can tell you Mr Swindell, things get easier in time. You'll think of him every day. Those thoughts turn from sadness to happiness over time. My dad passed on Jan 19th 1993, and I still think about him every day. Great video bud. I know it's been a few years, but I'm sorry for your loss.

I have moments where he should be here and he's not. I wish I could see his face one more time or even just here his voice.
