A Slimmer Shelley congratulations on your wedding. I'm sure your dad will be there just not in the conventional sense. I lost my dad in 1995 when I was 13. So I won't get that chance myself. I wish I could say that pain goes away but it doesn't. You just learn to live through it eventually. May I suggest you do something to honor your dad so that he'll be remembered. I've found that slide shows work well.

This is sad but at the same time beautiful! You lost your father and I'm sure that's a pain like no other, but what does it say about the man he was that he had this many people willing to fill his shoes even just for a minute or 2. So although it may not feel like it your father is always there, just look around at all the people he left in your life to hold you up when you feel like falling down! They are all extensions of the love he had for you! Heaven is no further away than your heart and all of your memories. I hope you have a long happy marriage, and a beautiful life! God bless!

I'm getting married in 18 days and I'm dancing with my stepdad, my grandfather, and my two brothers for my father-daughter dance because my father passed away when I was 9. I'm still working out how the guys will know when to switch. Does anyone have suggestions? We have a family friend performing live for the song, and he's doing a mash up of two songs, so I'm not exactly sure how to split it/give cues for when to switch partners.
