In the U.S. maybe, but there's not much of a market for country singers in the U. K.. If he is really serious about becoming a country singer he should relocate to America.

Well he has surpassed that comp as well. Once the Gaithers heard him, and Ernie Haase apparently, who needs AGT or BGT or The Voice. As to his size , well look at Richard Sterban of the Oakridge Boys, Tim from EHSS, for just two very slim but AWESOME Bass singers.

Typically the British who lecture the world on diversity and acceptance are the most deluded and unwilling to consider anything not currently in vogue. This young man was a gem in a bin of polished paste and you threw him out. Well your loss is our gain.

He did it one better. He sang for Bill Gaither and with the Vocal Band and this song will be on one of the latest Homecoming videos. if this kid wants a career in Southern Gospel music, he's well on his way. If those that have gone home can glimpse what's going on down here, legends like George Younce, JD Sumner, Bill Lyles, Brock Spear, James "Big Chief" Wetherington, Rex Nelon and others are sitting there smiling 'cause this young man here to carry on the tradition of great Gospel basses - and we're the beneficiaries of his remarkable talent.

The Stamps-Baxter quartet style originating from the Appalachian Mountains is big in the States, and the Midwest is just as big on it as the Southeast. When he sang this at a Gaither event, one of the first to give him a standing ovation was Ernie Haase. Haase is the son-in-law of the late George Younce, who is the best known vocalist of the song in the past 50 years. Also the band made a huge mistake by not giving the song a pure piano-only feel, as many of these Stamps-Baxter style songs work best on just a piano alone. He fits in the fourth cog of the classic four men and a piano style. These coaches clearly have no respect for the Stamps-Baxter style. As for Blake Shelton on the Voice of Holland US, one of his tunes is used by NBC for its premier motorsport coverage.

Colet was great, but as a banging start to the show this left a lot to be desired. I never thought I'd remember Jermaine with fondness! I don't think there is mu8ch I can say to reveal the hidden depths of Colet's technique, because all there was was depth! Nothing wrong with that but hardly demonstrating any long term ability. The show opener and no-one turned? Qh Well, I suppose that's honesty for you, but it hardly makes for scintillating telly!

Is the voice about "the voice"? N not about the music they sing? If they choose based on that then they should then exclude blind auditions then, save the poor guy the trouble. Its biased and not right at all. The US judges judge on the voice not the genres.
@courtneyvaughan6163
@courtneyvaughan6163 8 жыл бұрын
In the UK, they pick rubbish coaches who really only want to win. So they go with who they think will get them that win, the voice does not matter. Just look at all of the great blues/jazz singers that haven't gotten through. They also seem to be very ageist. It's sucks, but nobody singing country would get far in the UK... Even if you're extremely talented, it's just not a liked genre here. So they get no turns. Those here whom aspire to be country singers are better off going to the USA.

+Courtney Vaughan I really appreciated your comment. Unless you are some Whitney Houston wannabe pop singer, the judges don't turn. Musical diversity and acceptance of a variety of genres are a thing of the past on this show, because the judges aren't competent to deal with something different. Same old cookie cutters who go on to have flop careers or nothing at all.

This just proves that most these so called "judges" don't know talent. Most of the judges they choose can't even sing that great. They can only sing if they scream. This gentleman proved he had the range, the talent and control of his voice all this out having to screech for a high note, or grovel for a low one. But from what I have read in the comments, God closed the ears of the judges, so he would come to America and sing under the Gather Group. The world would have tried to chew him up and spit him out. He was saved from having the gutter try and bring him down. But none the less, this was just a insult to his obvious talent.

What has this show produced anyway ?Non-entities? One flop after another? And after Tom Jones gone, does this programme even have any credible judges left on the panel? Colet has a fantastic voice but the judges are thoroughly incompetent with country music. Just high pitched screaming is what is welcomed in this show. Pathetic.
