nice job . I worked for a national commercial truck leasing company. Some of our customers had periodic vehicle washing performed . We contracted that service to local truck washing contractors. I went to an adjoining branch of out customer one Saturday and visited a customer who leased truck tractors and aluminum funnel bottom trailers. The washing contractor wet the vehicles down , sprayed an acid /soap cleaner and brushed then rinsed. Did an amazing job as these tankers hauled bulk portland cement. One of the washing contractors told about a truck driver who came in on a Saturday and tried doing the "same thing " to clean the windows on his car. The driver didnt follow the instructions carefully enough . He wanted to acid wash his car windows, didnt wet first, left the acid on too long and had frosted windows when he went to rinse. Proceeded to wash again with suds and a brush . He etched all the windows on his car and had to get it towed somewhere to get ALL the windows replaced. PAYING ATTENTION PRICELESS

Its amazing how stuff is done differently depending on where you grow up, around here we rake the yard to remove rocks and to smooth it, seed it then spread straw, and in a few weeks its green. And the straw just lays and goes away.

I like to mow the edge of the field this time of year because the breeze gets into the corn or beans and helps dry them down faster. When you park any hydraulic operated unit to keep junk from the lines just hook them together after wrapping them around the frame of the attachment your using.

Been watching the channel for while now - suggestion for the semi-trucks and trailers: smoke valve. This allows the air lines to be pressured up from "shop" air, rather than having to run the engine to generate air for brake adjustments. Saw this on another channel.

Daddy Cornstar. A word of advice from a trucker/road mechanic of 49 years. get a quart of air tool oil. every quarter, like 3 months, squirt oh say 6 to 8 ounces of air tool oil into the lines coming from the truck, through the glad hands. in time the oil will make it's way down into the valves and it will lube the springs and diaframs in the valves. air tool oil will not affect the diaframs. The valves will corrode andsuch in time and become less functional. Example take forever to open and let air flow in properly. And also in cold weather they will not freeze up as easy, or not at all. and another tech tip, squirt a dash of desiel onto the linkage under the top plate of your Fifth wheel. it keeps them lubed and snow and such will not stick on them in winter. when i drove for a durration, every 10th fill i gave my fifth wheel a squeaze let go squirt and i never ever had a proplem with a sticky linkage. ya gross WD40 will work but that stuff in a mechanics eyes is nasty garbage. deseil fuel is a awesome lubercant. Up in Canada's artic durring the 11 winters i was there we had to lube our plates with deseil fuel cause the jaws would not close in such cold if they were dry or lubed with a heavier lubercant. another teck tip, take the time and put Diellect. grease on your plugs and on the plugs into your lights, keeps all the pins protected from grunge ect that corrode them. Hugs from your northern Veiwer, i never miss a video. Karrie, and Rochele.

When I was a kid I recall seeing on my family's farm every hydraulic coupler, male or female, covered with red or green plastic caps when they were disconnected. I can still see the the cardboard boxes full of them in the machine shed next to the diesel tanks in my memory's theater. Are they no longer a "thing" on modern farms?

Hey Daddy Cornstar... I had the same problem loading tires into the back of my Grand Cherokee and I solved it by using a collapsible dog ramp. You guys should be able to make one easily and use roll the tires into the back of a pickup. You could even rubber coat it to throw in the truck to unload them... just don't let the tire go. ; )

Cole a trick I had heard but didn't get to try as a commercial applicator was pre-coating your booms. I ran an RG1300B Rogator and sprayed on a lot of fertilizer with a high flow pump, I had to wash it off every night. I had heard from someone that if you would spray everything down with a pump sprayer of diesel that all the dust, etc., would stick to that and make it easier to wash off. We used to spray combine heads that had to sit outside with diesel to help fight off rusting. Maybe someone can confirm or oppose that.
