Yes! Keira is the queen of period pieces. She's such an amazing actress. And such a classical beauty. She can fit into any period and you believe it. You believe she came from that time. Not many actresses can do that. To me, She's like the Leonardo DiCaprio of period films, and she gets nominated but never wins. She needs an Oscar, just like Leo. She deserves it!

@@elvia9947 So we basically should forget about the holocaust, about black slavery, about all the bad things happened in the past, instead of aknowledging it and trying to learn from it, right? lmao I love how people nowadays is all like "we have achieved gender equality so we don't need feminism anymore" but give them a movie that reports how men used to take credit for women's achievements in the past, and they'll start screaming "STOP THIS FEMINAZI BULLSHIT"
@sagefortei90786 жыл бұрын
Elvija Venčiūtė Stop speaking for all women, as if you’re our spokesperson. Feminism is needed. You are referring to the third wave of Western Feminism, that does not account for the whole movement. There are still countries where female infantcide is welcomed, where female honor killing is applauded and where women are forbidden to study past a 2nd grade level. Be glad you were born somewhere where you have the audacity to utter the ignorance that feminism is no longer needed, or else another ignorant person would be saying it in your place. Also if you hate the world you live in, you’re free to take your own advice and “go cry about it” or better yet move on.

The Bronte sisters (Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, among many other classic novels) and countless other women writers had to publish under male names back in the day because they wouldn't have been able to do so as women, or accepted as authors as women. I'm sure there were more men who took the credit for women authors, too, we just don't hear about it and maybe an enigmatic mystery of the past now, never to be revealed, in some cases.

I live how Kiera breathes life, wit, & resonance into her characters. She showed us Lizzie Bennet’s individual but understanding side to how females felt used and misjudged as psychiactric patients in asylums in the movie A Dangerous Method. War resilience and perseverance both external and internal in Atonement & ADangerous Method. An aspiring code-breaker in The Imitation Game(STEMINIST) & the daring Anna Karenina. As an English lit major, I read so much about how female authors wrote under male psydonyms, had others take credit, and even got paid less than their male counterparts simply to be published & express their voice. This is absolutely resonating even for modern standards & love how Kiera is recieving accolades for this 👍💟

Google analytics reassured me I had absolutely no privacy online by adding this trailer to my youtube page the day after I hit several sites on the du Maurier book. There are no coincidences. An exquisite example of the empowerment of women beautifully translated by Keira Knightley. The first time I saw Keira Knightley act I was mesmerised by her capacity to translate her character's emotions to perfection. In this role she has excelled herself yet again, showing several different sides and evolvements of her character. The audience is swept off their feet and sucked into the life and head of Claudine/Colette. Although the story leaves room for interpretation depending on your own character, whether you see it as a reflection of a marriage in that period or the development of an emancipated and independent woman, you will not be disappointed. Keira shows the audience the character's view and emotions of being manipulated and exploited by her husband and and you can see the conflict of her loyalty to her husband with the drive to be an independent woman. Dominic West rose up to the bate and played the manipulative husband with addictive habits with ease especially on his use of language and the humor applied to the role. The humor in the film is truly British and you need to be British to understand this kind of humor. It was excellent.
